Samson Co1U don't work with windows 7

Hello, When I plug this mic (I test it with 4 PC with windows 7 ) no drivers are found to install it correctly. I can see USB Audio Device in the Device Manager of Windows 7 with an question mark. I tried to uninstal and replug but the problem still continue. In the general properties it's say : This device cannt start code 10. Have you got this problem too ? Have you a solution ? Thank you very much. A poor french boy.

SOURCE: Salut I bought a new Laptop

hi,

Your problem is there are 3 reasons
The first connection of your USB mic problems
The second USB port of your computer problems
three windows system problem or virus

The first thing you do a test using a different computer and see the results. If the problem still the same this means that your microphone usb connector problem

Second, if your microphone is successful on the computer this means you need to perform tests on the USB port or your asus laptop operating system, most likely the problem is the USB port or an operating system.

regards

I cant hook up mic and guitar same time

get a 1/8" stereo to mono splitter from radio shack or the like. it should have 1 1/8"male end, and two female ends, you could possibly get a 1/8" male with 2 1/4" female connectors, or use an all 1/4 inch adapter, with a 14/ to 1/8 adapter on the male end.

this should divide the guitar and vocals into left and right channels.

SAMSON CO1U recordings sound like they're underwater on my MAC

The behavior you describe suggests that the mic is not getting power. Since it is a condenser mic, it requires what is usually called "phantom power". This should be provided thru the USB port. Check to be sure that the USB port is supplying that power. Check with another port for example. If that fails, you may have a defective mic.

Keep us posted.

Sound quality not good at all

open up the sound icon on control panel...select recording......select samson mic....make sure set to default.....go into properties ...and boost main volume slider....most mics after install are set quite low and you have to go in and adjust the vol input level

SAMSON CO1U USB MIC FAILURE

Your first issue is vista... it just sucks. I would have to be there to figure this one out but im going to state the obvious, does it have an installation cd you didnt use? does it have online drivers you can find? Try looking around in your control panel and messing around with some of the options, good luck.

Problem with Samson CO1U

Here are some instructions relayed from someone who was able to fix a similar problme with help from Samson tech support:

The C01U is a WAV device. Therefore, adjusting the slider for your default MIC input level on the volume control applet does not adjust the gain on the C01U. You access the actual volume control for the C01U as follows:

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices
Click on Audio tab.

Under "Sound Recording", insure that Default Device is selected as Samson C01U.

Once Samson C01U is selected as Default Recording Device, click on the Volume button just below the name. A new window will pop up, with a vertical slider. This window will be labelled "WAVE IN", however it actually does control the MIC volume for the C01U.

The key here seems to be that the USB device that represents the Microphone input (as far as Windows is concerned) is not a traditional microphone, but (as mentioned above) a WAV-IN device.
