I would check the air duct discharge real good before taking anything apart! A clog down line will cause the igniter to kick off resulting in blowing cold air! You need to sqeeze the air duct or take it off as lynt is soo light you will not even notice a clog but your dryer will!
Good luck!

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
check outthis electric no heat tip...
two more things you can check are a blockage prior to your lint trap ( you can usually tell by how much air is coming out of the exhaust) and run it on the air only function which should not engage the heat element at all. If you are electrically inclined you can check the power to the element to see if its shorted to an " on" condition this is a bit complicated and dangerous to do so I wouldn't advise it. 220 plug runs one circuit for the element and one for the motor to turn the drum.
I suspect you have a blocked air vent. A blocked vent will make you dryer run hot. Most vents get blocked by lint near their exit to the outside. There's usually a screen at this location to prevent small animals from crawling into your house. Often this screen gets clogged with lint. Most vents are designed to allow removal and cleaning of this screen from the outside.
