Ds broken? Green light blinks, bottom screen flashes, turns off.

Hi, I have a problem with my daughters ds lite. Its fully charged, when I turn it on, the green light flashes, and the bottom screen blinks white for a split second and turns off, light off too. About 2 weeks before this, her volume stopped working, but it worked with headphones just fine. (not sure if this is related). Also, she has an r4, but I have 4 kids who are always switching their r4 cards (they have different games on them...) and its only with the one ds and the others have used that r4. It doesnt work with a regular ds game either, or gb advance game, or no game either, just turns off. Any advice for a fix-it-myself? Or is it dead? Thanks in advance :)

You will have to open it up and desolder the fuse that says, F2, and then solder a small piece of wire onto the two spaces that the fuse sat on in order for you to bridge the fuse because it's probably blown. Then try powering it up. If it works, then you have just repaired it. If it doesn't then there must be another fuse that is blown. Try testing the fuses with a multi-meter. I am guessing that it could be the F1 fuse if the F2 fuse was also the culprit. Do the same thing to bridge the F1 fuse and then it should work.

SOURCE: Ds does not recognise R4

Try eject, blow into the port then reinsert. There is a possibility that your ds has blocked the r4 from being used on that ds.

SOURCE: Problem with r4 and ds lite

Try the paper shim trick first. It could be that the older NDSL's slot one contacts have become "sprung" and aren't making good contact.

Cut a piece of paper slightly narrower but longer than the R4. Put it on the non-contact side of the R4 and insert the R4 (with the paper on the back) into slot 1. It may increase the thickness of the R4 such that the slot 1 fingers now make contact.

Email or Call Nintendo or send them your Ds, and they will give you a new one.

My ds lite just switched off and it was charged

Hi, so if you try switching on the ds lite, nothing at all happens ??
Does the green light flash even if it is for like a split second. If it does then it is more likely top be a blown fuse. If 1 of your screens flicker also, this could be your problem as the ds will not start up with a broken screen. Please advise

My sond ds lite wont turn on and the charge light

Yes, this problem is normally caused by one or both of the fuses have blown on the logic board.

My ds will not turn on

Hi,

It sounds like one of you're screens has broken. What you have discribed is generally what happens one either the top or bottom LCD screen has broken.

If it is the top screen the bottom screen will flash for 1/2 a second and the DS turns off.

If it is the bottom screen the DS should still turn on but with no reaction from the screens. (the Ds will shut down immediatley after turning on)

Green Light Flashes

Possible you have a defective LCD screen. Could be the upper or the lower. Personally i think the upper (broken LCD Flatcable)
