The massager was made for 110 V use, you doubled the voltage and burned it out. You might be lucky if the unit is a low voltage unit and relies on a 12V power inverter and when you plugged it in it ruined just the inverter.

I have a singer 7422 sewing machine which is made in canada. I want to use it in india. So, what type of step down converter do i need and how much watt.

Hello Gargi Sarkar
The power supply voltage in India is between 220 V and 240 V. Your machine will be ruined if you plug it directly into the power supply in India. There are two options:
1. Use a step down adaptor to 'reduce' the 220 - 240 V to 110V which is what your machine can handle. This may be more practical and economical AND you can use the step-down adaptor for other Canadian electronics.
2. Your sewing machine motor can be changed for a 220 - 240 V motor, but often other parts will need to be changed as well. Also more costly.

India 220watts how I cAn use brother cs6000i sewing machine in India

The only way I know is a 110/220 volt transformer.
They are available in any electronics supply house.
As I remember the motors in these machines are only two lead, and they put the motor in for the country it will be sold in.
Dual voltage motors have three or four leads (wires).

My BC3 was working fine since 2 yrs. Yesterday all of a sudden when I switched on mains, the pod LED flashed once & turned off. No output since then. I bought the system in USA & here in India,...

Check your converter first !
If it is then just replace it but use a better one.

Electrical items are not meant to run continuous on most of these converters and it may have had an impact on the speaker supply.

Most of these supplies use common components so a repair should be quite easy. you might find that you can replace or even modify the supply to operate correctly on 220v. In the long term that would be a better option than a converter.

I bought a BOSE system in chicago. now in India not working

Electricity in India is 240 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. You will require a voltage converter if you are carrying a device that does not accept 240 Volts at 50 Hertz. Check the voltage selector atthe back and set it to teh correct voltage - if not present buy an adaptor. Your component will have to be examined by an expert. Uae customer

even if there is power difference, all you have to do is buy a transformer that would convert 110 volts to 220 volts or vice versa. another issue that to be consider is frequency.

if the unit is designed to run at 60 Hz, then it would be slower when plugged to a 50 Hz supply. and the reverse, it would be faster if it is designed to 50 Hz and plugged to a 60 Hz supply.

HP laptops power supply

Well, as a rule for electronics:
The United States and Canada use 110-volt electricity.
Most countries outside North America use 220-volt electricity.
Unless your appliance is dual voltage, you need to use a "converter" or a "transformer" to change the 220-volt electricity into 110-volt electricity in order to use a 110-volt appliance.
If your appliance is dual voltage, you can switch it to work on 220-volts, without a transformer or converter.

HOWEVER

Desktop units have a selector switch for 110 / 220 volts., which is done away with in the case of laptop one's which sense the input voltage and regulate accordingly.

I think your main concern is just that you have an adapter for the plug to go into the wall outlet.

Hope that helps :)
