What is the difference between and what is photovoltiac versus solar energy

Solar energy is the output from our sun though not strictly correct it is sufficient for most purposes to say it is the sun's energy that reaches Earth. It includes a wide spectrum of different frequencies/temperatures of light and energy and various types of particle and electromagnetic radiation, a significant proportion of much of the content is deflected by the Earth's magnetic field and various layers of the atmosphere.

The solar energy reaching the Earth's surface is reckoned to average the warming equivalent of 3kW/hr per square metre.

Photovoltaic (PV) is a process that converts the Sun's heat/light into electricity and should not be confused with the Solar/thermal systems designed to use the sun's heat/light radiation to heat water. Mostly this is used for domestic purposes but some large installations exist where large mirrors concentrate light onto a solar panel with enough heat to produce sufficient steam to drive a turbine/generator to produce electricity.

Photosynthesis, incidentally, is the method plants use to convert atmospheric CO2 into growth using energy from the sun.

How efficient are LED bulbs at the office?

Very efficient, they draw about 20% as much power and if you buy name brand bulbs last up to 10X as long. Do not get cheap no names, they are junk and not worth the trouble of screwing them in. Go with GE, Westinghouse or Fiet electric.

Does the total power dissipated on the circuit increase, decrease, or temains the same when the switch is close.

In any circuit, when the switch completes the circuit power will be dissipated in the form of work or heat. Work is the energy used to perform a function, such as turning a motor. Heat is energy lost due to circuit resistance, and the power used to create it.

Think of an incandescent light bulb. When the switch is turned on, the bulb uses energy to create light by passing current through a high resistance wire, heating it up. Here some of the energy produced is lost as heat from the light bulb itself.

What size oil furnace is needed for 1200 square feet?

75000 to 85000 btu Or British thermal pound.
Two units of measure are important in sizing an oil furnace. The first is the British Thermal Unit or BTU, which represents the energy needed to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit at normal atmospheric pressure. The input capacity of an oil furnace is often stated using this unit of measure. The second number is the fuel efficiency rating, which is expressed as a percentage. This represents the amount of energy that gets converted to heat, with higher numbers being better. To determine the energy output in BTUs per hour, multiply the input BTU by the efficiency rating. For example, a furnace with 100,000 BTU of input and an efficiency rating of 89 produces 89,000 BTUs of output. One with an efficiency rating of 80 and the same input amount, produces only 80,000 BTUs of output.

Are halogen bulbs a good form of light source to use for lighting a reptile's habitat?

As for the positives, halogen bulbs last a long time, are very energy efficient and produce a lot of visible light. On the downside, this type of bulb does not emit UVB light. The link below will lead you to a good quality halogen bulb, where you can find more information.

Would that be the 10th or 11th?

If English is your first language you might want to brush up on contractions (I'm), capitalization (I) and the difference between "won't" and "want", "right" and "correct".
