When trying to do a Z-test or T test I get a screen that says ERR: MEMORY From the STAT key I scroll over to TESTS...when I try to do a Z-test or T-test, I can enter M0, x-bar, and Sx, but when I try and enter "n" there is already a wierd number there (8.3655r5r658), and when I try to select that area to delete the strange number I get a screen that says: ERR:MEMORY 1:Quit screen
I know this is an old question, but these answers didn't work for me, and I had EXACTLY this problem. What DID work was resetting my calculator RAM through the memory command and then resetting defaults through the memory command. Everything is peachy now.
If you get Memory Error its meaninig that memory is insufficient to perform the instruction or function. You must delete items from memory
before executing the instruction or function.
Recursive problems return this error; for example,
graphing the equation Y1=Y1.
Branching out of an If/Then, For(, While, or Repeat
loop with a Goto also can return this error because
the End statement that terminates the loop is never
reached.

I'm not sure, but it probably gives the error because one of the values you entered isn't valid. It's too big or too small.

If this doesn't solve the problem, please let me know.

SOURCE: I'm receiving the message ERR: DATA TYPE 1:Quit
Hi,
If you want to know exactly where there is an error press the 2:Goto and the cursor will take you there. The message is clear: Some data you input is not of the right type.
Since you do not say much about what it is you are trying to do statistics on, I for one cannot guess. I suggest you press the STAT key and select 5:SetUpEditor then press ENTER.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
SOURCE: Suddenly, the graph window reports ERR:UNDEFINED
Go to Window and make sure there are acceptable values for your graph, default is usually 10 and -10 with 1 scale.
SOURCE: When graphing says ERR: INVALID DIM 1:Quit
You have two lists that don't agree in length.
Solution 1 (easy)
Press [y=] and look at the top line - one of your Plots is highlighted.
Move the arrow to the highlighted one, press enter to get it un-highlighted.
Solution 2 (permanent)
Press [STAT] - EDIT: [1] to edit your lists. Go to the bottom of the lists and see which one is the longest. Delete (DELETE, not clear) the "extra" entries in the longest list until all lists are the same length.
