Fuzzy is a funny word. I never use it to describe a picture problem. That because fuzzy can go too many different ways. There is snowy fuzzy, blurry fuzzy, grainy fuzzy, and demodulated fuzzy. If the set goes out of focus intermittently that has something to do with the focus ciruitry. If it goes grainy that is a front end problem, usually tuner related. The other types of fuzzy are generally associated with problems in video processing some where. So, which is it?

Oh, and BTW that unit has three small picture tubes in it, one red, one blue, and one green. It doesn't have a 'bulb'.

Philips 46 in rear projection tv has too much green. The bulbs are good but adjusting the color does not help.

this models have coolent issues. I would tke off the front screen very carefully , as it may seperate , get a friend . Do not scrach the screen. then look down inside the units CRT's (Cathode Ray Tube) and see if its cloudy or fuzzy looking . While there look at the blue tube as well. If its fuzzy replace the coolent.

Mitsubishi 65in DLP TV picture is not clear after I replaced the bulb. It was clear before the bulb was replaced but it seems to take time to catch up and is a little fuzzy.

Sometimes dust can get in between the lamp and lens take lamp out and check for dust with a lint free cloth.
If thats not it it could be the manufacturer of the lamp. I usually try to get the same manufacturer. You can try tinkering with sharpness or contrast but remember the points you adjust from just in case it makes it worst.
Good luck

New flat screen hdtv has a fuzzy picture

Yes you will get a better picture quality out of a cable box if you get an HD cable box.
The reason you are getting the diminished picture is due to the signal you are feeding the TV is an analog signal. The newer HD TV's are made for digital TV and this older technology shows all its flaws on this type of TV.

When you get the new box understand that the same channels you are getting plugged directly into the tv are still going to have some grainy look to them but the good thing is that a lot of them are starting to be rebroadcast on HD channels and that is where your new toy will truly shine.

Enjoy your new TV...

Good Luck...

Philips 34pw9818 fuzzy screen

Inside the set you should see a large part with a red wire coming out the top. That is the flyback transformer. There will be 1 or 2 controls on the back of it. One should be labeled screen and one focus. Carefully adjust the focus one until the picture is again in focus. Please note that in that area are high voltages (33,000V) that can be dangerous. Be careful where you touch. IT is best to have a mirror so you can see the picture while adjusting the focus control.

Bad Cable Input

Try using your RCA imput to see how the picture looks compared to the tuner picture,is possible your tuner imput is bad, make sure the conector is not loose, the overall picture should look different but not fuzzy all over, using a dvd picture thru the aux (rca)imput should show you the difference. If the conector is loose only it could be repaired but if it is solid the tuner might be bad and it will need to be replaced along with any board it might be mounted to.Let us know how it goes or if you need more information.
