Monitor problem It's monitor display settings pop up automatically again & again. Menu buttons are not working.my moniter model is hcm780m of hcl company please give solution for my problem Monitor menu box pops up all by itself. It stops after a while but it returns again and again. What do I need to do?

try pressing the minus key multiple times firmly.It should respond.
The switches need to be replaced.

my hcl 17inches monitor is displaying contrast,brightness etc automatically
in the middle of the screen.even if i press the menu buttons it
disappears for a sec and comes again and again.what should i do to

Actually the button for setting the contrast is a bit loose thats why whenever their is a **** os little movement in the moniter opf ur PC then the contrast button get pressed automatically and the pop up comes up

This is common problem observed in many monitors compaq,HP,HCL,IBM this is happens mainly in rainy season due to moisture,by this moisture monitor button circuit get rust inside and button pad remain pressed. so it shows a strip at the middle of monitor like contrast or brightness. So this is minor problem just replace the monitor display control button sensor or circuit.Temporarily you can warm up the monitor by hanging a bulb of 60 watt nearer your monitor to takeoff the moisture.(Dont hang the bulb too near to the monitor). It definitely solves your problem.

Try to wiggle the cable and see if it goes away. Seems like a loose connection somewhere. Try to factory reset the monitor from the menu.

SIR..., regarding monitor...display block characteristics which is operated manually by buttons situated bottom of monitor is anytime coming at the centre of monitor display... The settings block comes on suddenly and we are unable to exit from the same sometimes the block goes off without any action and everything is fine till it is back again and it is come again and again.....by all this i did'nt work on my PC...all result it's useles......please sir giving your suggestion as soon as possible....... This has been happening for the last 1 year and is a real pain Please send some solution

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.

It seems that your menu switch is short. If you can open up the Monitor check out the connection of your switch and the related components, clean with Spirit or alchohol, check out the switches, if found faultty replace it. That should solve the problem. Good luck.
