Asko 10505 Washer will drain but will not spin. Initially that was the problem, but then in trying it out again the washer will fill with water, will drain but will not even wash now. Do you think it is the Control unit which needs replacing? Thank you.

You don't mention if the drum spins if you choose the spin program, if it doesn't it could be the brushes on the motor. This would be a cheaper option to try first rather than a board. sometimes you can clean the com or tap the brush carriers gently and get the motor to spin on an empty or small load.

If you're confident, with the power offer and machine isolated you can check the resistance across both the brushes and slowly rotate the motor as a test.
hope this helps

SOURCE: Washer won't spin or drain water

you checke dthe drain??? how??? i would assume that you have something stuck within your drain pump assy( bra underwire-- money--- toothpick--nail/screw) VERY common issue, youll need to remove the front cover and remove the hose leading to the pump to look inside. DISCONNECT POWER-- PUMP IS ALWAYS LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!, oh yea and youl need a bag to collect the water when you disconnect the hose, YOURE GONNA GET WET!!

SOURCE: washer fills with water but wont drain

Check your lid switch. If your washer fills and doesn't do anything, or stops right after the wash cycle and then does not advance to the rinse cycle or drain, the problem is commonly caused by a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385198-replacing_lid_switch

If the switch requires replacement, a new one can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, pcappliancerepair.com, repairclinic.com, appliancepartspros.com. Just use your model number as your search criteria. All these sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all them for the best price.

NOTE: Some washer models have the lid switch located near either the left or right hinge of the lid. This type of switch is activated by a rod on the hinge pin. If not functioning, it can often be adjusted by bending the hinge rod until it engages the switch.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

PS You do not have to drain the washer to complete this repair. Once the switch is replaced the washer will drain on its own. This may save you the need to bail water again.

SOURCE: asko 10505 washer will not spin

Hi, 2 things to check for. Obstruction in the drain pump or faulty drain pump, brushes in the motor worn out. The easiest way to determine the pump issue is answer this question. Does it drain ? Next, turn the timer to the drain/spin cycle, obviously it should drain & spin and advance to "off". The next thing with these 10505 asko is to see if the drum rotates in both directions in the wash/agitate portion of the cycle. You can just select the short wash for this (I forget if it's #4 or #5) If not, it's worn brushes. However, you'll have to make sure the armature isn't damaged before simply installimg new brushes. We can cross that bridge when we get there. Let me know. Hope that helps, though those are just the most common problems there could be others. Good Luck

Unable to locate any info on a model 10505 se # 982410041588

Hi, I may be mistaken but I don't think so, that number ( 10505 ) is for an Asko washer built in 1998, not a dishwasher. Do you require assistance with your washer ? I will watch for your reply. Macmarkus :)

Water doesn't drain

you could have a bad drain pump.
have you checked the hoses that come from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump for anything that might be stuck in there, also check the hose that comes off the drain pump to the wall and look for an obstruction.

Asko 10505 will not spin the belt is not broken, tub fills and drains

Your washer unit is needing a new timer and replacement is needed if the part is available.
This will require some electrical experience to replace the timer unit or go to your local Sears repair and they will come out and repair your unit for a fee.

I have an asko 11505 clothes washer. For some reason, it is not going through all of the spinning cycle, it spins for a short time, then stops abrutely. I cleaned the coin stop, cleaned out all water...

My Asko 11505 washer fills only a little water then shuts off. If I drain the washer with the drain hose from under the machine, then the machine will start up and fill enough water to fill the hose again, then shut off.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Leaking inlet valve on Asko 10505

Unfortunately, the only way to be 100% sure this won't happen again is to replace the inlet water valve. Especially if the problem is intermittent. You could live with it if you turn off your water taps when the machine is not in use.

Asko 10505 - wash finished, door won't open

it is most likely your machine may have a draining problem. if it cant drain the water out the door wont open. if you open the small door at the front bottom of the machine you will find the little black drain hose. unplug the hose off the door and drain machine. when the machine is empty try powering on and opening the door. if still no luck you will see (in the same location) a red pull ring. undo the screw holding the ring in position and gently pull until the door releases. it would be worth undoing the button trap lid to access the pump and check for any blockages (most common coins **** pins etc) let me know how you get on.
