Wifi is broadband. Look in network properties and make sure only one network adapter is available. Microsoft systems seem to have trouble getting online when more than one is on. Disable the wifi and see if it changes. You may have to restart to allow the router to give it an ip address.

SOURCE: HP Pavilion dv4000- Can't connect to wireless internet

Is your chipset wireless network program taking over?
Often an internal system program will take priority when connecting to wireless networks.
Think of it like siblings who squabble over attention.

If you can find any other programs which are acting in this manner, I'd suggest telling them "do not use this when connecting" and then see if you can then use your main program.

Also - is your network secured and / or hidden? Did you reset your router? Sometimes this helps, too. =D

SOURCE: HDMI, and VGA on HP Pavilion dv6 1359wm, S-Video

you need something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/VGA-to-S-Video-RCA-Adaptor/dp/B000P3UB24 - but you may also need to see if the VGA display adapter supports the output, sometimes this also needs to be enabled to get it to work - other times it works just by using the VGA output switch - which will be one of the F keys look for a symbol of a screen and then use that F key and the FN key together to toggle the output from <laptop only><laptop and VGA output><VGA only>not necessarily in that order. The HDMI is a digital signal out and to convert to analogue for the TV will need an expensive convertor

Testimonial: "Thank you, they are digital TVs, just not HD, So still gotta go VGA."

I have HP Pavilion dv6 and i think my HDMI port is wore out and broken. Is there another way to connect to my TV?

You can connect if both devices are synced and Bluetooth enabled If not... Try a local computer repair shop. GeekSquad is great but costs lots.

Hp pavilion dv6 2117ax will not power up

Since you already got a new charger, then the problem could be the power jack of the laptop and/or the connections inside the laptop.

Try to plug the power adapter slowly and try to wiggle it. It you feel that the power jack is wiggling, then the problem is a loose power jack that is why it won't charge. And you need to have a tech tighten that up for you.

HP Pavilion dv6-7010us won't boot up

Hello. The most common reasons for this issue are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem. The

power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.Hope this helps.

Hp pavillion dv6-2155dx keeps buffering and won't play videos correctly

Are you connecting wireless or wired connection. Have you updated your flash player? Which browser are you using? Do you keep your computer cleaned up from internet browsing? If your browser is up to date and so it your flash player then more than likely it could be the internet connection. If you are running it wireless try plugging it in to the router with a cable and check it. Another thing would be to check for a virus.

With the laptop connected to the TV, push the Windows Key and the P key at the same time. You will see a windows pop up, see the attached image. You want it to be on the Duplicate or Extend option. You can also try the Projector Only option.kiddfroster.jpg

I have a HP dv6-1355dx Pavilion laptop and the "wireless button" is not working. It will not turn on.

Hello, have a look in 'Network Connections' at the 'wireless connection' settings and see if it has been set to 'disabled' If so, re-enable it and it should work. If you don't see a 'wireless connection' icon, then maybe you don't have the wireless driver installed. Regards, nicam49
