this is the control board you will need for your model if unplugging the unit for 5 minutes doesn't fix the problem. If they are LED lights, then I point my finger at this. This is a plug and play board with molex connectors. Very easy to install with unit unplugged. You can manually reset the display and check for error codes by holding the top left and top right button on your user interface for 5 seconds in unison FOR 5 or more seconds after all the lights flash.
Your control board is reacting to a surge in power. Unplug the unit for 5 minutes then replug and follow normal starting procedures. If that does not work think about buying a new unit.
C: Disables clean mode in Thermador device, allows cook and microwave
E: 1. Turn the clock selector knob to OFF
2. "Tweak" the oven control by turning the clock selector knob slightly to the left
(counter clockwise).
This may stop the flashing message/beeping and clear the display window.
My freezer was purchased in February, 2004. It is a self defrosting freezer but ice has started forming along the bottom shelf and back wall. Also, after cleaning the freezer the other day it has stopped clycing. The freezer will stop running only if I turn it down to the #1 setting and then it will not come back on. If I turn it up to a higher setting the compressor will not stop running. It ran for over 24 hours and would not cycle unless I turned it off or set it at the #1 setting. When I unplugged it and pulled it away from the wall, there was a green water spot the size of a dinner plate underneath the freezer. Help!! Very Unhappy this freezer is only 6 years old. S in Phila.
I would say that is not a feature, it's a problem. Sounds like the control board has no battery backup of any kind to retain settings in case such an outage occurs. If still under warranty, have it fixed. A refrigerator should be trusted to be left unattended, if this has been this way from new, you should have complained the first time it happened. If they say that it's in the design and all of these do this, perhaps there's a class action waiting to happen.

You need to install or change the battery for the power out freezer alarm. Mine was just doing the same thing. I looked on the web for the answer and couldn't find it. Opened the door to look for the model number and there was the diagram for the light flashing codes. Mine's battery compartment is in the grill on the bottom (right below the door) on the left side. Takes a 9v battery. I had a power outage recently and it must have killed the battery after beeping for several hours.
