Just had the same exact issue with mine - took everything apart - found that the swivel roller brush wasnt turning. it was not any belt issues or motor issues. took out brush roller - held in my hand by holding just the hand cap still - and tried turning the roller with my other hand. roller would not turn at all but is supposed to with no effort. on some models the end caps pop off but most are one piece and are just discarded and a new roller bought - seems to be $10-$20 for one for most dirt devils and under $10 shipping in north america. you can try something down the side of the roller and end cap like a razor - i did cut lose some crud and it works - but roller still stops on 2 of 4 settings on the rug because of this. i've already ordered a new one.

My vaccum cleaner will not turn on...i checked the outlet and it works but no power to my vaccum

Some vacuums have a resettable circuit breaker in case of overload or switch in case of blockage. Both are usually a pushbutton type thing (like on a powerstrip). Find it, reset by pushing, and run the motor. Check for obstructions and for anything that could be preventing the brush-roller from turning. If the breaker or switch trips again there is a problem that needs to be resolved.
The manual might be helpful.

Rainbow vaccum roller got caught in bed spread and stopped rotat

Assuming the belt is not loose, it sounds like something is still stuck under the roller (part of the bed spread?)

Did you check the power nozzle circuit breaker?

You may also need a new roller brush

As mention

a little always make sure your filters are clean.but the biggest problem will be with the belt and the brush roller.if it smells like wires burning then its probably the motor .reach up under the front where the roller is but unplug first and see if you can turn the roller by hand.if it turns real freely then the belt is bad.there should be a little drag o the roller when you turn it. i would take the bottom open depending on what kind of vacuum you have and take the brush roller out and clean it real good.holding the brrush try turning the ends and see if they turn easy,if not there is probably carpet strands or hear wrapped around it in the inside of the ends,if you can't turn the roller you need to buy a new roller.if its just the belt replace the belt but before you do clean the motor shaft usually when a belt goes bad there is burnt rubber still on the shaft ,if you don't clean the shaft your new belt will not last long

Eureka altima stopped power mid vaccuming, have changed outlits

make sure all your filters are clean, try to turn the brush roller by hand a few times if it turns real freely then the belt is broke.if it is reall hard to turn then you have something wrapped around the ends of the roller where the bearings are.your motor guard might be keeping it from running because it got too hot take the brush roller out and the belt let it cool down for 20 minutes then try it without the roller and belt.you should be able to take the ends of the roller off by just pulling out on them so you can remove what ever is in there
