Infocus lp425z projector pushes latop display to left quarter of output image

Recently acquired an InFocus LP425Z projector; it works quite well with a DVD player, with a bright and sharp image. However, when hooked up to my computer's VGA output (with the CableWizard adapter) the image from the computer monitor is compressed into the left quarter of the projected display. Talked to the help desk at the InFocus 800 line; adjusted the computer's resolution and made certain the connections were snug. No joy. I tried both CableWizard 2 and CableWizard 3; no change in output. This projector has the proprietary (non-standard) socket for connecting the VGA output with the CableWizard. Help desk suggested trying a VGA to RCA video converter in order to make use of the video input socket used by a DVD player. Does anyone know how to get this device working correctly with the regular VGA input? Thanks!

Usually this is a hardware acceleration setting problem on the 'advanced' properties setting in your 'screen resolution' properties on your computer. Re-set the hardware acceleration to the 2nd setting and this should fix your issue. We have this regularly when we project on a double projector system and the one projector keeps shifting everything left until we adjust the hardware acceleration settings on the computer. No more issue.

make sure it's an analog signal. then reset the settings on the projector to factory default. toggle the f4 on the laptop. lastly, make sure the cable is good.

Problem with INfocus LP425z Colorwheel ?????

That unit has a bearing color wheel, if it was not stored proper, it could be sticking. That would explain the power cycling. giving it a bump start if you will. Yes you can open and inspect to see if color wheel "free wheels"
