Can i upgrade my archos a7ohb - Archos 7 HOME TABLET V2 8 GB Hard Drive

Is it archos 5 or archos 5 IT ?
For archos 5 IT is already upgrade to 2.2 as far as I know.
For archos 5 I don't think there is one and with archos they don't bother doing anymore upgrades for older models.

I don't think they recognise the archos 7 home tablet.
There's Aptoide and Appslib for getting apps.
Upgrade your filmware at archos as well.

Go to http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates.html?country=us&lang=en&#firm
and select the Archos 5 from the drop down box.
I would suggest you follow the manufacturer's instructions when it comes to the firmware upgrade.
I know it can be pretty hairy on most devices if you're upgrading it's OS.

Archos has been saying Flash would be officially available for some time now, but it's still not out. There is a beta version that I'm using, works great for me:
First step to getting Flash working is to go to your settings menu, then Applications, then check the box to allow for Unknown Sources to be installed.

You should be prompted to install this APK file on your Archos 101 after it's downloaded, this will give you a decent version of Flash (it's taken from a Droid X which has similar hardware to the Archos 101).
The Version number of your Archos 101 firmware is different from the Android Operating System. Version 2.1.8 is the latest Archos firmware as of Feb 28, 2011, this is Android 2.2.1.
To force an update, you actually need to connect the Archos 101 to the internet, not to a PC. Once you're connected to a Wifi network and have access to the internet, go to your Settings, then scroll to the bottom to About Device. On this screen is a Firmware Update option, this will check for and download the latest. Once it's downloaded you'll be prompted to plug your tablet into the charger and restart it to apply the firmware.

First off, I would recommend at least to get you going, that you NOT use the Archos to buy your plug-ins. Instead go to a desktop or laptop computer and buy your plug-ins using it. You will get the files you need by email. Once you copy them to the root of your Archos, the upgrade is painless. You likely will need the latest firmware before you upgrade so make sure you get that first.

I bought 4 Plug-ins for my Archos 605 WiFi TV+(Cinema+Podcast+Web)plugins for about $38.00 US on eBay. The deal was quick and cost much less than I would have paid to buy them directly from Archos. The seller I bought from claims to be an authorized reseller. I believe this is true because when I went to Archos, I found my player already registered. You may also find that you can get a similar bulk price for plug-ins for at the Archos Forum.

start unit up, then quickly press volume up key. This then enables you to format the drive and reload the OS.
