How to increase volume aspire 57386969

Generally laptop speakers aren't that loud, plug in an external speaker into the headphone jack for higher volume.

Bottom right of the screen should have a speaker icon to change the volume.

Hi .i have hp compaq 610 laptop.my in build speakers not working.how can solve the problem.please help me.

Hello,
The inbuilt speakers on my laptop do not work. I believe the headphone input socket to be the problem because when i stick my headphones in it only works if i squeeze the laptop near the socket. The input has been quite heavily used so i'm quite certain its broken somehow. Anyway, my layman theorising has led me to the conlcusion that my laptop thinks that headphones are plugged in when they're not and so disables the speaker so maybe if i could disable the headphone input the speakers might work. I'm sorry if this sounds confusing but my computer knowledge is really, really limited. Any help would be massively appreciated. thanks

My headphone port is not working in my acer aspire5710z laptop. when pin is inserted in the port, still then the inbuilt speakers are playing, not the headphones or external speakers.

Do the following:

Turn off the laptop, unplug power cord and remove the battery.

Put back laptop together, and restart the laptop with headphone jack in. Restart the laptop with headphone in twice.

Third time , while laptop is on, unplug the headphones and restart laptop again.

This will usually fix the headphone problem on Acer laptops.

I am using hp pavilion dv2214tu, able to hear from inbuilt speakers but when i insert headphones, i can still hear from the inbuilt speakers but not the headphones. PLs help.

Hello,

The headphone jack contains a small contact that disables the built in speakers and redirect the audio signal to the headphones. If the jack doesn't do this, probably that contact is dirty or the jack itself has a problem to one of the contacts inside it. You could try some electrical contact cleaner (it'a a spray you can buy from any electronic store) but I'm not sure if it will help or solve the problem permanently.
The best solution would be to replace that jack with a new one. It's not an expensive or tricky repair and any service center should be able to do it without many problems.

Hope this helps,
Bogdan

Can't mute inbuilt speakers

That is not a software problem.
The headphones/external speakers jack socket has a switch to exclude from audio the internal speakers, when a jack plug is connected.
This is a very simple device and is not software controlled.
The fact that it has gone faulty at the same time you reinstalled the system is a coincidence.
If it does not mute when you insert headphones, all you can do is trying to play with the jack plug , inserting and pulling it out. If this does not unlock the switch, the alternative is having the jack socket replaced by a technician. This is generally an expensive repair, asthe socked is soldered on motherboard.
A cheap alternative to a proper repair is using an external USB to Audio Adapter and mute the internal audicard when using headphones.

Built in speakers don't work.i have sound only when i plugg the headphones

Looks like there is some problem with the stereo headphone connector. As its a hardware issue, I would recommend sending it to the service center.

You may also use external speakers temporarily.
