I have a GE Profile PSS26SGPASS that stopped cooling on both refridgerator and freezer. The compressor was not coming on. I hit the turbo cool and the compressor came on and both sides are cooling down but while in turbo mode getting error message on refridgerator side. Turned off turbo and compressor keeps running and unit seems to be working again. What is the most likely problem?

Make sure the fan inside the freezer is running. If so, remove the cover from the back of inside of the freezer. If it is clogged with frost you have a defrost circuit problem. Most likely the defrost heater mounted at the bottom of the evaporator coil is burned out.

Verify you have voltage at your fan. If you have voltage and the fan is not running then it will need to be replaced.

Check to see if the evaporator fan is blowing. Sometimes removing the back panel to expose the fan and hand turning it can make it come back on. If this doesn't work then the fan is bad. Also make sure that there is good circulation to the fridge side. Food can sometimes block air flow.

if turbo fans not running then the evaporators probably froze up and wont cool at all unplug and replace turbo fan and make sure u let the unit thaw completely i recommend atleast24 hours and turn back on and make sure turbo fan is running and u should be fine
