Dell 3100cn Laser Printer Logo

Hi, My Dell 3100CN printer is displaying "Change Black Toner." I have replaced the toner cartridge. The printer begins to calibrate for a very long time. When it finally finished calibrating, it return to the error "Change Black Toner." Can you help me with this?

    Hi I did try your suggestion to change for non dell toner config but it didn't work I still have same message

    replace black toner , do you have another solution?

    I changed the black toner cartridge now it says ID error. I've taken it in and out. Wont change

There is a chip in each toner cartridge which tells the main machine something about how full it is. It may be that it tells it how full it is, or it may be that it tells it how many pages it has done. It sounds as if the new black cartridge has a duff chip, and is telling the main machine that it is empty. To test this, you can overide the message. 1. press on the menu button;
2. select configure;
3. select maintenance;
4. select non-dell toner;
5. set the value to on.
If that does't work, get back to me.

Dell 3100cn laser printer poor print quality

It sounds like you've got contamination on the drum cartridge or on one of the toner cartridges.

I'm actually going to be installing black toner in my 3100cn in about 8 hours, so I'll inspect and clean each of the carts, and write up the process for you tonight.

WILL NOT CALIBRATE,KEEPS ATTEMPTING TO CALIBRATE.

This is commonly caused by faulty toner cartidges or OPC drums.

If there is a fualty color cartridge the device will try to recalibrate over and over....

Isolate the faulty toner cartridge and replace it.
I have seen this as a common problem with some poor quality refilled cartridges

Dell 3100cn printer leaves a blank strip

The following table should help

Contamination in the laser path - 1. Clean the laser path. (Remove the laser/scanner assembly and clean the lens.) 2. Replace the laser/scanner assembly

Defective fuser - Replace the fuser assembly.

Lack of toner or faulty toner cartridge - Redistribute the toner in the toner cartridge. If the problem continues, replace the toner cartridge.

Dirty Corona Wire - Clean the Corona Wire.

Defective Drum - Mostly applies to B&W printers. Clean the drum or replace the drum.

I AM CHANGING THE BLACK TONER CARTRIDGE ON A DELL 3100CN WITH THE ORIGINAL DELL TONER CARTRIDGE AND I GET AN "ID ERROR" MESSAGE

Either the "toner cartridge sensor" N4445 isn't reading the chip in the toner,

or an MCU board P5281 or EEPROM is defective

How do you change the magenta, yellow and black toners on the dell 3100cn

The toner carousel must rotate, so that you get the slot for the other toners in front of you.

this sounds like you might have 2 problems on you fuser is not getting hot enough to fully fuse the toner to the paper and two your black toner cartridge has been comprimised and needs to be replaced
