Most of the time when I turn on my Technics SA-DX930 it switches over to digital in the digital input setting from analog. This results in the sound being really soft almost inaudible, or well inaudible unless it's loud music. The timing when it switches seems totally random, sometimes (not often) it works just fine, it doesn't switch for hours. But sometimes I can sit and turn it on and off and mess with digital input button for hours just to have it turn back to digital the second my finger leaves the button. I probably should add though that it doesn't actually switch as the digital input light turns green and it says digital on the display but the effect is the same. Please help me out it would be most appreciated.
What connections do you use for the device you are listening to, and what device are you listening to when this happens. you should use either an analog, or a digital connection to a device, but not both
I got my computer connected to it through an aux adapter. Got it on the DVD channel also got my synths hooked up to the TV and CD channels. The problem doesn't lie in that I choose the wrong setting it's that it randowly switches to digital even though I didn't switch it. Which results in it getting messed up since analog seems to be the correct setting for it.

This may sound like a silly check, but verify that the tape monitor switch is not engaged. What is the quality of the sound when turned up? Is the cound clear or raspy?
Thanks,
Dan

try rehooking up speaker wires. make sure no bare wire is showing and positive and negative are aligned correctly
