Computer turns on but screen wont

When i turn the power on i can hear it running and lights flash on the keyboard but the screen stays blank.Help? 4 out of 5 times (sometimes more than that) my computer will turn on but screen will remain blank. Does anyone know if that's a hardware problem? Or is it a driver? The laptop is 2 years old, the problem started couple months ago. It only happened one time at first and now it's worse. I had to put it in the hibernate mode instead of turning it off but now that's not working anymore. When i come out the hibernate mode screen won't turn on.

First,If you are running windows vista,This can be due to an update that has your video driver and windows video driver running at the same time.

Hardware would be the invertor board is bad.

Ttry to start with F8 and choose start in vga mode,If this allows you to start normally,go to the device manager and update the video drivers

My toshiba at200 table 10.1 wont turn on

1. When you press the power button to turn it on, do you see any thing on screen, like the toshiba boot up screen or something like that. Or is it completely blank (black color) always.

2. Can you see a faint image of your desktop (try to see it in dark place with flash light). This is important to confirm.

3. Also, when you press power button, do you see the LED lights on laptop blinking or solid green (which ones are in blinking/solid) and do hear any sound ? Or do you feel that your laptop doesnt even try to boot.

4. Can you hear any Beeps when you try to turn on the computer. If yes, what is the sequence of those beeps.

Difficulty getting monitor to display when computer powers up

The Problem may be due to the defective inverter unit inside the monitor. Dry to resolder if any dry joint on the inverter PCB or replace the inverter board.

Laptop screen only starts up 1/4th of the time

Sounds like you have a lot of spyware and malware. Anti-spyware software (such as SpyBot) and antimalware software 9such as Malwarebytes) may not ultimately help, but it's worth a try. I really think that you will need to completely reinstall Windows. Use the CD that came with your system, as it has all your drivers. Let us know if you need help to reinstall. Good luck.

most likely the laptop presentation mode is on. press the Fn key and the F5 key together (maybe several times) to take it out of that mode.

Dell Monitor 2001FP Blank Screen

From your description your backlight is going out. The fluorescent light when it begins to burn out tries to draw too much power. Your inverter is sensing this 'too much' power draw and shuts down power to the back light. Replacing the backlight is the most technically difficult repair of an LCD, and most repair shops don't even offer this service. I recommend that you sell your LCD 'AS IS' on eBay or a similar website. The Power board and the Control Board are both usable parts that can be easily salvaged from most Dell Ultrasharp monitors.
