Got x6650 can not get past connect your printer on the setup Cannot get passed the connect printer when setting it up, I have tried more than 10 times to set this damn thing up....

Simply run the X6650 installation software on your computer. The software will also show you detailed instructions on how to setup the printer itself. If you don't have the installation disc, you can download and install the X6650 printer driver from the Lexmark website.

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X6650 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.

Please follow the steps below to configure the Pick-up On setting on your Lexmark X6650 printer:

1. From the printer operator panel, press the Setup button.
2. Go to Fax Setup.
3. Go to Ringing and Answering.
4. Go to Pick up on.
5. Select your preferred number of rings before your fax picks up the message. Press OK to save the setting.

Print the network settings page to identify if your printer is connected to your wireless network:

1. Press Setup on the printer operator panel.

2. Press the right or left arrow button until Network Setup is displayed, press OK.

3. Press OK at Print Setup Page.

4. Press OK when prompted to Load Paper.

5. Press OK. The network settings page will now print.

Check the Network Card Status, SSID, Trouble Code, TCP/IP Address. SSID should be the name of your wireless network. Otherwise, you may need to reset the printer's wireless network settings.

How to reset network settings:

Here's what you can do:

• If this is your first time to install the printer on your computer and if you have the Lexmark installation disc that came with your printer, just insert the disc into the computer hard drive and execute the application. This sounds like a driver issue. Try to uninstall your X6650 printer driver from your computer (follow steps in this article: How to Uninstall Lexmark Printers). Restart your computer when prompted. Reset the printer to default settings.

1. Press Setup.
2. Go to Defaults.
3. Go to Set Defaults.
4. Select Use Factory.
5. Hit Ok to reset the printer to factory default settings.
6. Reconfigure the printer with the printer settings (Country, Time, Date, etc.)
7. Try copying.

NOTE: Wireless connection won't be affected when resetting printer to default settings.

when you look at the icon of the printer does it have a check mark on it or in the upper right hand corner of the icon? you can also make sure its the default printer by right clicking the icon and selecting "default printer" then try doing another print test.
