My creative zen works when plugged in but doesnt charge

Your battery could be worn out and need replaced. You can find a replacement battery on google and dis-assembly instructions here http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/2006/02/how-to-disassemble-the-creative-zen-vision-m.php

The only other option is to replace the main board. Unless of course the replacement screen was broken.

Turns on and then goes to rebuilding screen then says firmware problem but computer doesnt register that its hooked up

check on the zen site and make sure you have the current version for your zen.
download it and do a rebuild with new firmware.
this mp3 has a hard drive, the exact one that the ipod has. They are not immuned from crashing for sure.
But doing a reinstall of the software will probably help alot.

Zen m wont turn on

Well, it needs to charge via USB on your computer, so plug in your zen into the computer with the creative usb cord, and let it recharge. It may not necessarily turn on if it's really out of battery, but you can tell its charging when the switch you use to turn on and off, and hold, the light is blinking. After sometime, your Zen screen on the upper righthand corner should show a little battery and be blinking green what stage it's at in its charging. When its done charging the battery icon with be fully green, not blinking, and have a little plug icon inside of the battery icon to indicate that it is fully charged--takes a couple of hours to charge.

If that does not work, check your USB cord to make sure it's not damaged in any way. If it is, you may need to purchase a new one for better connection. And if that doesn't work, then you might need to replace the battery altogether, which I'm sure, if you are still in your manufactuer's warranty, they can do for you. After it is replaced, your zen should be good as new and ready to operate.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

CReative Zen Vision M - Bought in US so can't get support in UK. At first kept trying to switch to external TV. TRied resetting and worked when I plugged in connecting/docking plug. Then hard disk kept...

You should get support no matter where you bought your player. The Serial Number on the back of the player allows Creative to trace the player. I bought a Zen Vision M from Amazon in the US and had it shipped to an address in the US. A friend collected it for me and brought it home to me in Ireland. The Hard Disc failed after about 45 days and I emailed Creative Labs Europe and they set up an RMA, I shipped the player to them and they sent me a brand new player. Try this link to email your problem and set up an RMA: http://uk.europe.creative.com//support/contact/emailform.asp
