It is a Minidisc player by your description and no it will play NO CD in it. It is a different sized type of media.

Could be bad belts, lack of lubrication on the MD side and even a bad power supply filter capacitor of the larger type. It would need to be seen by a repair Technician to resolve all issues.

you have to remove the power steering pump,
1- remove the belt
2- turn power steering pulley to see hidden bolt behind the pulley
3- you do not need to move the hoses
4- there is a 10mm bolt hold the sensor,
5- after removing the bolt just twist back and forth to loosen it and pull it out,disconnect the wiring harness.

You need no software nor your computer recognizes it, it has a slot for a micro SD card, so you can use that way to 'load' music into it. Hope it helps.

I am not very sure about the compatibility but If the connection cords are matching you can go forward to try this out. Remove the short inthenew unit before you install using a good anti static soldering iron. Usually there will be a compatabily list on the new spare for the older models but if mountings and pins seems Ok you can go forward and replace provided there is no alternative to get the original. Nowadays due to high cost and low quality replacement parts, it becomes necessary to review ourselves to think if buying a new DVD will be cheaper with a warranty. Just my thought. Did you remove the knock-out in the disposer...if not that's why you are not draining.
