Even though the water well is full to the right level the machine does not detect this and flashes 'Add Water' then stops. Was working fine the day before. I suspect the water level detector switch is...

Tube for pressure switch sits outside drum and needs air pressure to activate the switch.you may find the water has entered the tube thus reducing the effective air pressure required to activate water level indicator.simply take top off washer and locate the tube , drain the machine via the drain tube near the penny trap before pulling off the rubber hose which comes from bottom of drum and drain out any water from tube, reconnect tube and the air that is now in the tube will compress as the water level rises to the point where it activates the switch.if still not fixed maybe need to replace pressure switch which is obtainable off eBay from various online sellers.

Water will not turn off

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Water Inlet Valve If the washer is overflowing and power is shut off to the washer, the water inlet valve has failed. Replace it.
Pressure Switch If the washer is overflowing the pressure switch might be defective. The pressure switch is attached to a small tube which is attached to the outer wash tub. As the water level rises the air pressure in the tube increases, once the set water level is reached the pressure switch turns off power to the water inlet valve. Check to be sure the air tube to the pressure switch is clear before replacing the switch.

Low Water Pressure from House Supply If the washer is overflowing the water pressure to the water inlet valve might be too low. The water inlet valve requires a minimum of 20 psi to shut off properly. If the pressure is lower, the valve may not close fully when the power is shut off. This results in the valve leaking water into the washer and causing it to overflow.

My washer machine goes straight to washing and does not fill with water.

The air pressure tube going to the water level valve is pinched.
Open the control panel and move the plastic pressure tube then try the fill again.
If it is not pinched, remove the tube from the pressure switch and blow through the tube to clear any blockage in the air bell on the side of the tub.
If the air bell is clear and it still does not work correctly, replace the water level pressure switch.

Top loader keeps filling up with water and floods no matter what the cycle programmed in

HI. This will be a defective water pressure switch. Use the procedure below to inspect this switch for faults. Replace the switch, if needed.

HI, the water level switch(aka pressure switch), is responsible for regulating the water fill level in this situation. It does this through a plastic tube which runs from the switch in the control console down to the side of the outer tub, near the bottom . The tube is filled with air. As water enters the tub it also enters the tube. As water climbs inside the tube, it pushes on the air trapped inside and increases the air pressure. When the air pressure reaches a certain level, it triggers the switch.

I would advise to Inspect the air tube for kinks, breaks or damage. The tube should also be free of water. The tubing should be securely connected to the bottom of the outer tub and to the bottom of the water level switch. If there is water present, the switch must be replaced.

The water level switch has three connectors. Label and disconnect the wires from the switch. Test the switch for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. It will be necessary to test each of the three possible pairs. replace the switch if it fails the continuity test.

The switch location will be just behind the main control sector, or near the inlet valve. It will be the only switch with a small hose running into its housing.

Flood!

If it fills with water and starts the cycle and the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is sticking. It need replacing.

Your pressure switch stops the water and allows it to start the next cycle. It's a switch either in the control panel or at the top of the tub with a small tube connected to it which goes down between the inner and outer tube. As the water level increases the air in the tube is compressed until there is enough pressure to make the switch stopping the water from filling. This tube can get clogged and the switch won't work. Remove the tube and clean it out. Blowing on the tube when it's still connected to the switch will make the switch if it's working and clear.

Kenmore 80 series overflow

The water level switch senses the water level in the wash tub. Inspect the air tube for kinks, breaks or damage. The tube should also be free of water. The tubing should be securely connected to the bottom of the outer tub and to the bottom of the water level switch. If the Tube is full of any water, remove it from the switch and replace it with a new one. Make sure that the new is correctly fitted to the switch.

The switch routes current from the timer control to the temperature switch and the water inlet valve when the tub needs to be filled. Once full, the pressure switch cuts the current and reroutes it to the motor on the timer control to continue the cycle. If the tube replacement dose not improve the fill performance, and it continues to overfill, replace the timer.

Hayward H250 giving me a "LO" error code and does not turn on.

9 times out of ten this means that you have a faulty water pressure switch. It could also be a limit switch, or air pressure switch. Make sure the filter is cleaned, and all valves are in the correct position. Once you are CERTAIN that water is flowing through the heater, you will need to short each individual component to find the faulty one.
