SOURCE: Freezer / Refrigerator not cooling

When the fans are running the compressor should also be running. If the compressor is hot but not running you have a compressor problem. If the compressor is running check for frost on back wall of the freezer compartment which would indicate a defrost system problem. At five years old have you cleaned the condenser where the heat is transferred to the outside air in the room?

SOURCE: whirlpool freezer not freezing

The fan speed can be deceptive. That is why this problem is so hard to diagnose, when the fan starts to wear out the motor spins but not with enough force to circulate air thru the freezer and rrefrigerator. If you have the ability to swap out the fan motor then it should only cost you the price of the motor and components. Approx. $125.00 if you have the make and model you can go to appliancefactoryparts.com or appliancefactorypro.com to obtain motor and components, But if you have to get serviceman to replace fan it will cost you an hours labor also.

Hot frame is mullion heaters. Keeps moisture from forming on door and causing rust. Sounds like the connector is defective, remove connectors and wire direct. If fan won't run then you need to call a qualified service tech.

Testimonial: "wired direct as sugested running ok thanks ian"

Whirlpool GS6NHAXVK refrigerator not freezing , just cool.

There are a few possible reasons why your Whirlpool GS6NHAXVK refrigerator's freezer is not freezing, but just cooling. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the temperature settings: Ensure that the temperature settings are set to the appropriate level. The recommended temperature for the freezer is between 0 and 5 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to -15 degrees Celsius).
  2. Check the freezer fan: The freezer fan is responsible for circulating cold air throughout the freezer. If it's not working, then the air won't circulate properly, and your freezer won't freeze. You can check if the fan is working by opening the freezer door and listening for the fan sound. If it's not working, you may need to replace it.
  3. Check the defrost system: If the defrost system isn't working correctly, then ice can build up on the evaporator coils, blocking the flow of cold air. You can check the defrost system by removing the back panel inside the freezer and looking for any ice buildup. If there is a lot of ice buildup, you may need to replace the defrost thermostat, defrost timer, or defrost heater.
  4. Check the condenser fan: The condenser fan is responsible for drawing air across the condenser coils to remove heat from the refrigerator. If it's not working correctly, the refrigerator will not be able to remove heat, and the freezer will not be able to freeze. You can check the condenser fan by removing the back panel and looking for any obstructions. If the fan is not running, you may need to replace it.
  5. Check the compressor: The compressor is responsible for compressing the refrigerant, which cools the air in the refrigerator. If it's not working correctly, then the refrigerator won't be able to cool properly. You can check the compressor by listening for a humming sound coming from the back of the refrigerator. If you don't hear anything, or if the sound is abnormal, you may need to replace the compressor.
If none of these troubleshooting steps work, it's best to call a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

Can you tell me why please?

All the big cooling happens inside freezer compartment. Freezer gives little cool air to fridge compartment. Now when the vent blocks that little cold air cannot go into fridge compartment. Thus your freezer works good but not fridge compartment. Milk goes bad but frozen meet keeps good.....

Vent freeze up either due to defrost problemt, defrost drain line problem, Evaporator fan problem or even can be your damper motor not opening due to unit failure or frozen damper door.

It is normal for the fridge to take a while to recover the cold temps after a manual defrost but if you did not test or replace the 12729128 Defrost Heater and the W10165425 Defrost Thermostat you will need to do the manual defrost again until you do replace, Thanks John Tripp Appliance 911

Whirlpool fridge quit cooling

when you adjust the tempreture dial for the refrigerator this would turn on the evaporator fan motor located behind the rear wall of the freezer click this link http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/00052094-00007.png part number 17 on the schematic would be the panel that you would remove when you remove this panel this would give you access to the evaporator coil as well as the evaporator fan motor if the fan is not spinning then you would replace the evaporator fan motor. If you see any ice build up on the evaporator coil or the fan motor or blocking the drain located under the evaporator coil this is termed as a defrost issue. If you find this then message me back and I will give further instruction on how to diagnose why your unit is haveing a defrost issue. The freezer is the only area that produces cold in a refrigerator. The evaporator fan motor blows the cold air through a small damper door that opens and closes depending on the tempreture inside the refrigerator. The first thing to check is the fan motor that is behind the panel that I mentioned. If you remove the panel and find that the fan is blowing and spinning message me back for further diagnosis. I await your reply Thank you
Rick
P.s what is the tempreture inside the freezer currently?

Freezer freezes, fridge below will not cool

if your freezer is still freezing fine, except for perhaps a slight softening of ice cream. this is a good sign. the second fan you are looking for is located behind the back wall of the freezer, emptying the freezer will gain you access to the screws to remove he panel. you should be able to hear the fan blowing when the freezer door is opened.if indeed the fan is blowing you may have frost building up on the rear panel, this would indicate a defrost problem( unit not self defrosting) and so much frost has built up that the air flow has been restricted to the refrig compartment
