If your back jets do not turn on then there is a valve you need to adjust on the tub somewhere or they need to be turned on by the face of each jet by turning them counter clockwise.

Perfect! you were right on. I unscrewed the jets and found that by pulling and turning it opened and closed them. Many thanks!

Can i use a bigger pilot jet with factory main jet

Pull the spark plug and see what it looks like with the original jet. it should be light brown and not covered with goo. If it is then the 40 is too big, If you change it out, drive it a while and check the plug again. The jet size is dependent on altitude and a smaller jet is better at high altitude so that you dont run rich.

take the carb completely apart and clean polish every thing side that you can make sure gas is new gas don\'t run old gas throw it out make that new gas runs throw the line to first before you start it take all the jet screws out and blow high pressure air throw all openings until air comes out freely polish jet screws with fine steel wool be careful

Got spark and gas to the carb but will not run. It will run (2-3 secs.) with starter fluid. pump the priming bulb but it sounds like just air.

Carb pluged up clamp the fuel line get some jet spray gumout take the screw in the center of the fuel bowl off this is where the jet is be carefull you dont drop the fuel jet out it hangs on the float clean that hole area up with the gumout use the tube that comes with it it help get in those small areas clean the jets put all back together should work

Only runs with choke half on as if mixture is too weak. Can`t work out how to adjust mixture

homelites fuel mixture is 32:1 and you can try to adjust the jets or jet on the carb if it has two jets turn them all the way in to the right but dont over do it just till they stop then back them out one full turn and see if that does the trick if not then you need a carb kit

I have a 1988 carburetor that has a cloged idle jet and I need to unclog it How do I do it? What is the best way to do that?

unscrew the idle mixture screw, count the turns, blow down hole with compressed air, rescrew screw back in.if it works,ok.if it doesnt work, youll have to strip carbie and clean it inside, jets, galleries, everything thoroughly.may need new gasket set.lay it all out carefully,on large sheet of newspaper,.if two barrel, dont get jets mixed up from one barrel to the other..have clean container of petrol to rinse and wash each part.use fine wire to clean any jets/air bleed holes etc..blow dry bits away from work place..use widest screwdriver blade that will fit, saves damaging jets[in fact, buy a new set of screwdrivers]

Pump works but no fluid in come to the front windshield. the back work fine.

you need to poke a thin needle into the washer jets to clear blocked jets....or blow them out if pipe is long enough.

Wont start keeps back firing working fine then went to take out next day and key turns it tries all that happens is it puffs out of exsort and wont go

2 possible problems:
a) Jets in carburettor are clogged. Clean out the carburettor and jets thourougly. Write down the settings of air and idle screws first to dismantle ( count the turns to full lock up the screws. DONT apply much force ).
DONT scratch jets with an iron wire or something like that, use only Carburettor cleaner!
b) Ignition timing is wrong. Here, 2 possibilities:
Sparkplug is dirty or worn, replace it.
Key in flyweel is broken. Remove the flywheel, check the key...

Hope this helps you in the right direction for your solution...

1983 suzuki gs 750 New airpods and jets. Bike not running right

You are dealing with Suzuki vacuum carbs, you cannot just replace the air box and re-jet. What you are running into is there is no pressure to raise the diaphragm because there is no restriction to create such vacuum. Either put the stock box back on or go to the biggest main jets you can buy. Sometime even when you get stage 3 jets you still have issues. Vacuum carbs are not made to run with no restrictions.....putting aftermarket exhaust on it will make things much worse.

Changing carb jets

the main jets just unscrew out use a socket if you can but dont over tighten when refitting.undo the 4 screws holding the carb bowl on and the jets are straight in view.

Some jets dont work

jets don't 'clog' - turn the face of the jet nozzle - it is perhaps an adjustable jet you have that has been turned off.
