I am a littl confused here you want box specs for a jl audio or a kicker comp cvr? a box can be what you want it to be,however usually manufactures have specs of the subs listed, as to if if should be in a bandpass, sealed, or ported box. by kind of rule of thumb most 12 inch speaker use 1 foot of cubic space per speaker, but it really just depends on you and what you like i prefer 15's you might pfrefer 12's or you might like a set of really fast 10's who knows at at anyrate it really just boils down to what you like, also when it come to speaker box making it is also nice to know what your putting the box in as well every vehicle is different. so i guess the question is what are you putting it in?

Well you really can't run both speakers on one term. because you will over heat the amp , unless your amp is rated at twice the capability of your subs , Then if so , Try positive to one sub , then neg. to the other sub , then bridge the remaining positive to the remaining negative terminal , But it is really best to get a two channel amp for your subs !!!
are you sure that you are capable of replacing the rubber ring if you don't even know how to take the speaker apart? I am Not sure that that's a challenge you want to accept.
If it is an open air sub ( hole with mesh in the center of the magnet) no ports are required, and the box should be sealed on the inside with silicone sealant. If it is a closed air sub ( no hole in the magnet) you need a 50mm port about 120mm long Box size will be 13 inches x 13 inches x 13 inches
Use the above site for several wiring schematics on dual voice coil speaker hookups. It will show how to wire for different impedance.
Also, I think the CVR 12's come in 2 ohm and 4 ohm impedance. See if you can check yours to determine which you have....
