my dvd slot wouldn't open either, so iv'e just took it apart slid the disc out and put it together again, works fine now, just remember to unplug from the socket first.
There may be a problem with the dvd you are using. If you look at the front of the dvd player there should be a very small hole. Take a paper clip and insert into this hole which should open the dvd drawer.
Now try another dvd to the if the player functions correctly. If not it likely means that there is a problem with your dvd player.
There is an emergency ejection slot on the bottom of the unit. insert a small screwdriver in the slot and slide in the direction indicated. this will unload the DVD. Now pull drawer opened.
First let's find out if the motor is dead or
the magnetic clamp is to strong for the motor.
Press eject then listen closely for the sounds of struggling motor
if you hear it trying SLAP the top right over the DVD drive
and that should break the magnetic seal and release the tray
you may have to try a few times Press eject and open hand slap kinda
hard the top of the DVD drive , don't worry you won't hurt it.
if that works email me and ill tell you how to fix this.
You can either use a paper clip and bend the metal so a long metal part pokes out. Push this metal part of the paper clip into the DVD player where there is a small hole for emergency openings when no power is available to DVD players. The other option is to unplug the DVD player, then unscrew the casing off the DVD player and then you can manually use your hands to remove the DVD.

check if your dvd door is driving by belt or gear . if its belt ,check if its slack, if gear check for worn gear. weather gear or belt check if the motor driving it responds each time you press the eject button .check if the eject switch is ok .then if all this are ok ,check the ic controlling the eject/close functions
Look on the bottom of your player. Between the two front feet you should see a narrow slot that is about 1 1/2" long (it should say "emergency hole". Shine a light into the slot, you should see a black pin about as big around as a pencil lead. Carefully push this pin in the direction of the arrow. It should release the drawer and allow you to open it.
Some CD/DVD units have a manual opening mechanism, it looks like a small hole on the front of the unit, try using a needle or a metal rod that fits by inserting it into the hole and pushing it should open the unit in case it got stuck somehow.
If afterwards it continues to work then all's good else you'll have to bring it to a workshop.
