Broiler comes on on top oven every time you turn bake on and won't go off. Recently replaced temp sensor for similar sporadic problem and worked for a while but now happens every time

Stove will not turn off CHECK

Temperature Control Thermostat

If the oven won't turn off the oven thermostat is often the cause of the problem. The electrical contacts inside the oven thermostat can weld themselves together and then the oven won't turn off. If this happens, turn off power to the entire appliance at the household circuit breaker or fuse. The oven thermostat usually cannot be tested and must be replaced if defective.

Oven Control Board

The oven control board has a set of relays that turn on and off power to the bake and broil circuits according to the customer settings and sensor input. If the oven won't turn off it could be that one of the relays on the oven control board is shorted closed, providing voltage to the heating circuit. It can be dangerous if the oven won't turn off. Don't leave the oven unattended without turning off power to the oven.

Relay board:
Some ovens are equipped with a relay board. This circuit board has several relays which control the switching of electrical current to the oven heat source. If the oven won't turn off it may be that one or more of the relays on the relay board have failed. If this happens replace the relay board. The relays on the board are not sold separately. ALSO CHECK THE BAKE AND BROIL ELEMENT.

My GE Mod #JBP65GS1AD oven recently started acting up. The bake element had a small glowing area 1/4" long even with the oven turned off. We used it a few times, shutting off the power in between...

Hello,

The way it can be tested is access the back panel so you can get to the oven control(its the clock asm) find a wire terminal on the clock marked as BA for bake and use a volt meter and see if 120 vac is coming from that terminal when the oven is off. The wire must be removed from that terminal so you not getting back feed and has isolated the test just to that. IF it has 120 vac or actually and voltage higher than about 5 vac when the oven is supposed to off the relay board (aka clock) is bad. UNPLUG OR TURN OFF BREAKER TILL WIRE IS OFF OF BA AND READY TO TEST then restore power make sure its marked as BA their is another marked BR thats for the broil element.

Good luck, i hope this helps

Oven flashes F2 and beeps in the middle of baking or broiling something. Our oven is all electric and recently whenever we start to broil or bake something, after a little while it will shut off and the...

HI. an F-2 during a baking cycle is the result of an out of control oven temp that has reached Temperatures above 615F-630F

If this actual over temperature condition occurred, Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred, Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature.

GE JRS04BOW3BB Will not turn on.

turn the broil on high by itself wait a couple min. and see if it comes on. if it does the your bake element needs to be replaced or you may just have a burned wire where the bake element plugs in. just remember to turn the breaker off to the oven before trying to pull out the element
