I had a viris, and now when I start my system is says no operating system found. where do I get the disks to reload the operating system

is it w8, w8.1 or W10 (slammed )
F11 dead. got you.

the hdd is bad.
or
infected with virus (damaged F11 partitions recovery)
or
some one put a Microsoft disk (not HP)
and did a install not using HP media.

if I boot that PC and it run under say
knoppix 7 perfectly , then the PC is ok
if the disk test passes, then the HDD is ok
and only the partition (HP restore) is damaged or missing on said HDD.
is it missing,did you look ? we use that same linux disk to LOOK... to see

the order is this, flow)
1: is the PC ok? battery ok, coin cell ok?
2: test PC with Knoppix 7
is pc ok?
3: test PC HDD with Knoppix disk tests.
looking at SMART data first, is now out of spare clusters and lots of dead clusters growing,
yes, bad hDD, or even its dead, then we run the full hDD test using Knoppix boot stick,
4: ok hdd seems ok, i look at the Hp recover partition. using same knoppix.
is it missing, or obviously damaged or files missing?
then it was slammed.
5: we then install fresh what ever OS you want.
how to do that and choices are many.
best is the HP media kit , to make it like new.
other use other ways and take days to find all the missing pieces, (humpty-dumptied)
I can do that latter my self ,done so 1000s of times.
(I go to HP and see what is there and get all these files)
the PC came with W7, if your PC was not w7 now
that means you slammed the PC, with W10.
you have yet to say what OS you ran before it died.
if w7 great, if w10, ouch..

if you have damaged F11,
install w7 any why you can, (most ways fail)
a real MS disk from MS actual will work to a POINT.
the MS disk will miss many HP drivers. and all apps
so go to the above link and get them all
warning HP only SUPPORTS W7 on this PC> period.

bug is still there back up only important files format reload recovery disk should be good

OK, you have been said that you need a recovery disc, because the person who said it to you suggested that you need to reload your operating system.

Before you do tht, try thses tips first, if the computer is still too slow, you will need to format and reload th OS.

I believe on Sony's you need to press F12 during boot up to access the Recovery Partition.

WARNING: This will erase everything on your Hard Drive

You will need to contact your manufacturer for a reload disk that that you can reload your operating system. If your computer was recently purchased or is under warranty, many times they will not charge you for the disk, only shipping and handling. If that is not an option, then you can go to your local Best Buy or other computer store and purchase a reload disk or purchase the operating system.

Hopefully you have not tried to reload XP yet.

Back up the current drivers with Driver magician lite.
CD/Floppy disk/Mem stick.
Then have at it. :)

Majority of the INF files are found under C:\Windows/INF
Even then installing OVER your existing XP the drivers should still be there. Unless you tell it to wipe and start from scratch.

Some viri and spyware programs can be so difficult to get rid of or cause so much damage. It is easier to wipe the system and start over.
If this is the case:

Spybot search and Destroy
Comodo firewall
ZoneAlarm Firewall
(Basically anything but the windows firewall)
Tip: Only run one firewall!!!!

AVG Free virus protection
NOD32 Virus protection (excellent but not free) 30 day trial however.

IObit360 (Highly recommened and fast!)

Usually the "restore" disk that came with the computer has the operating system. You can probably do a repair from this disk.

for xp in acer 5315 you have to load sata driver from external floppy disk with floppy and press F6 optin at starting point of xp boot disk while booting.


and follow the instraction when ask for sata driver spacification.
and enjoy loading xp.

This generally indicates a hard drive crash/failure, in which the hard drive will need to be replaced. Rare, but occasionally you will get this error from an operating system glitch. Before you run out and buy a new hard drive, try reloading the operating system. If you have any problems during or after the install, then the hard drive is shot.
