My Vizio 37" LCD went died on Sunday. "Double jeopardy" according to this forum (no backlight, completely unresponsive controls). So against my better judgement I sought a used replacement, what could it hurt, right? Found a used electronics shop and they had 2 Vizio P50HDM's in stock. Despite "misfortune" w/ my first Vizio (I actually bought it new in 2007, six years, ok for a fairly unknown brand I guess), I decided to give it another chance. They're quite popular and well known monitors now. I've used it for 3 hours now. The picture is superb (my games look great, Cable/Blu-Ray/Hulu/Netflix is crisp and it makes a fantastic, ginormous 2nd monitor for my computer). The "upgrade" was dirt cheap. The universal remote they gave me didn't work for but my old Vizio remote works perfectly. When I hit the info button it told me the source but it also indicated in the lower right hand corner "Fan2 Error". I've subsequently read about fan problems with this model but I haven't seen this particular message posted. The TV is warrantied by the store (30-days) and has a lifetime labor guarantee. I'm a DYI person but should I return the set (which weighs a ton, would require another 40 mile trip and everything else works perfectly). I will request a new fan but I'd like to replace it myself. Opinions, Suggestions?

I haven't had any problems with my VIZIO, but I have had several really good experiences with their service people, so I would recommend calling them up. They have great product guaranty and if for whatever reason you got a defective item I'm sure they'll help you out.

SOURCE: Vizio L32 32 in. HDTV LCD HDMI input not working
I recently had the same problem with my vizeo hdmi port # 1 going bad. Tried everything to fix and called vizeo. There solution for a master reset was turn off tv and unplug from the wall. then hold down the power button for 30 secs and let go. plug the tv back in and hold down the volume down and input select buttons down on side of the tv for 15 secs. release the buttons and turn the tv on after powering down all the components connectd to the tv. If this does not work they told me you need to have it sericed for a bad hdmi input. Hope this info helps anyone out there. It didn't work for me. Its a bummer cause the tv is well taken care of and only 18 months old. Best of luck to all others.

SOURCE: cannot turn CC ON/OFF via remotes
Try this combination.
1) Start with the cable box turned on and TV on tuned to the cable box.
2) Press the POWER button for the cable box and then quickly press the MENU button.
3) This should bring up the user setting menu. Use the arrow keys on remote to go to Closed Caption and press right arrow button this should bring up the closed caption menu.
4) Press the OK button and this should either turn CC on or off.
5) Once Closed Caption is turned off press LEFT ARROW button to return to User Settings Menu.
6) Press the POWER button to turn the Cable box back on and the Closed Caption should be gone....
Good Luck.....
