SOURCE: REPLACE BELT ON AMANA WASHER

REMOVE THE FOUR BOLTS HOLDING ON THE MOTOR MOUNT TO THE MILK STOOL. DISCONNECT THE DRAIN HOSES, UNPLUG THE WIRING HARNESS AND THEN ROLL THE BELT OFF THE MAIN PULLEY OF THE TRANSMISSION. FLIP MOTOR OVER AND REMOVE THE DRAIN PUMP, NOTING HOW THE BELT WAS THREADED THROUGH THE PUMP MOUNTS.

is this a whirlpool built amana? if so, its most likely a direct drive model, and when it doesn`t spin its likely a coupling between the gearcase and motor assembly...youtube has videos on how its replaced, which isn`t too complicated to do...good luck

Amana Touchmatic washer would not enter spin cycle. I found a broken belt and replaced it and now the machine shuts down shortly after it enters the spin cycle.

Does it make a clicking or a metal on metal noise when it starts the spin cycle?

Broken belt . The belt broke on my ALW480DA Amana Washer. I can seem to be able to replace it becuase thre are four posts in the way holding the water pump housing. How can I change the belt.

you need to remove 3 or 4 bolts out of pump mount and slide pump down on shaft string belt and push pump back up and reinstall bolts in pump

Just put a new belt on an Amana mod. no. LW7503W2 and it gets hot enought to smell and hot to the touch. Why?

The belt is either too loose or the part being turned by the belt is bound-up. Remove the belt again and turn the driven pulley by hand--it should not be very hard to move. Turn it in the direction that the motor runs.

My 12 year old amana washer does not agitate or spin but I can hear and feel the motor running, is it the belt. It was very loud just before this as it was agitated during the wash cycle.

Might be a broken belt. Locked up pump, broken idler.
