Canon iR2016J pls help me, my copier not functionning it shows Enter Dept ID and Dept ID Password Pls give solution

you can clear all passwords in service mode.
Procedure:
1) Selecting Service Mode
Press the Additionalfunctions
key, 2key, 8key, Additional functions
key sequentially

now choose #CLEAR and ALL press OK

Now the copier is on factory settings and without password.

Note: you need to enter user data and IP settings, because everything is cleared.

You will have to reset/clear the password. This WILL REMOVE all passwords setup in Dept ID Management. Go into Service mode by pressing the Additional Function key, then the 2 & 8 pressed at the same time, then Additional Function key again. Press COPIER on display, then Function ( across the top ), then CLEAR, PWD-CLR, Then Ok. You may also use the arrow keys on the display to get to PWD-CLR. Then the RESET key or maybe power down the equipment.

you can reset Dept.id and password.
press additional function and then 2 and 8
now go to clear
clear password and restart machine.

oday I start my printer canon ir 2520 and i see dept id and password prompt screen, I did not reset any id and password earlier, I cannot go inside the menu or i can't take any copy. Please give solution for disable or reset the same.

My Canon C-IR2016 is demanding a Administrative ID & Password.
I did entered the Admin PWD and latter removed it. but can't really
tell what happen that after I restarted the copier, it still requested for
the Admin ID & Password. unfortunately the the details i used before
is not functioning any more. PLEASE I need Help !! thanks

i would download the drivers and install them before you say that there is a problem. come computers don't auto reciginise that there is a printer attached to them untill the drivers have been installed.

you can download the proper drvers from canon.com

try this : press * with head press the custom setting browse it you will find to activate dept code then you need to have dept code id then password for ex.dept code id -0001 password 9999 you need to enter this two info to open the copy functions hope this will help

go into service mode additional functions button hen press 2 and then 8 keys then press additionl functions button, then scroll through until you see clear press enter and scroll through until you see passwod clear then restart machine and be no administrator password then

Hello, did you try the Clear MMI function ? , it should reset all passwords if my memory is good ( and all settings like ip, language etc ... )
