Check and clean your venting from the dryer to the outside. If it is plugged it will trap the moisture in the machine. Remember heat doesn't dry the clothes without air flow to push the moisture out.

SOURCE: whirlpool duet electric dryer taking too long to dry

A1 Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.
A2 - If the vent  doesn't make a difference, then check the blower wheel for excessive lint build up, check that there isn't anything stuck to the air intake baffle inside the drum, (i.e. the screen on the back wall of the dryer when looking into the drum). Check the lint filter chute for blockage. Check that the heating element isn't shorted to ground. Check the exhaust temperature of the dryer. A meat or pocket  thermometer can be used for this. It should cycle between 120 degrees and 170 degrees. Check that the drum seals to make sure the are not worn out.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Steam Dryer Beeps 3 Times But Does Not Start

Brand new unit - same problem. After an hour of investigating, I found the issue.
You don't actually have to SLAM the door. If you look closely, there are 3 separate pins that must latch. One is a simple push-button style which latches no problem.
The others are little prongs at the top and bottom of door. The bottom prong latches cleanly, but the top one will not latch because the door is a bit too flexible.
Close the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. The dryer starts normally.
Yay!

SOURCE: My Whirlpool Duet dryer is leaking water.

Any dryer leak but not work with water, maybe you put the clothes very wet.

Testimonial: "So you think the problem may be with the washer not sufficiently drying out the clothes? Should I run the washer through another spin cycle?"

Dryer takes hours to dry clothes.

Sounds like a heating element has gone bad. You have to tear apart more of the dryer to get to it.

My Whirlpool Duet Dryer is not heating up. Unit is only Two year

If it is a gas dryer. Sounds like thermal fuse. It costs about $12.95. Most appliance part stores carry it all the time. Very easy to replace. Also can be ignition switch (also cheap). If you know someone who is mechancally inclined, after removing fuse, they can run an electrical jumper cord to the two open ends. If the dryer begins drying, then it is definitely the fuse.
Go to Whirpool site and get part number and diagram to fix. Maytag repair can help at a costly figure after they order part since Whirpool bought Maytag.

Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer 4yrs old, not drying the load completely

The sensors are two metal strips inside the drum. They are on the right side just behind the filter. They are silver colored and have a slight curve to them. You cannot see them unless you put your head inside the drum. I clean my sensors with a non metal pot cleaner like 3M Scotch Brite. These sensors also fail if you dry silicon backed carpets.
