My hp psc 1610 printer will not print

As soon as I press "print" an error message pops up saying that the document cannot be printed. I've tried disenabling the bidirectional port as someone suggested, I've restarted the printer, checked for jams... everything and it still will not print.

How long has this be happening? What changes have been made just before this issue? And, what is your OS?

SOURCE: How to Clear carriage jam

Dear it's the carriage jam error. so it mean that your carriage is jam not paper. so open the printer where you insert the cartridge. check whether it is jam or what . cartridge carrier is jam kindly turn off the printer and try to move the cartridge head by hand very gently and if seems to be stuck than check for anything which abort him to move freely so than might be anything like dust or else. when you get success in moving the head put some machine lubricant on the rod on which head moves and check it ok.

SOURCE: HP PSC 1610 - Keep getting paper jam error with no paper jam.

Hi there ok Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Error messages and printing problems

Hi,
Paper mismatch errors occur because the printer scans the width of the envelope before printing. If the paper size setting in the printer driver does not match the paper actually loaded in the printer, the printer reports a 'Paper size error'.
Try to adjust the printer and envolopee settings..

Won't Print and says that it is out of paper

Hi Salson !

Salson, you have only mentioned that the printer won't print, but plz be clear about the issue, so that I can help you in the best way.

If you are receiving an error "Out of Paper" on the printer, then it will considered as a Hardware malfunction problem. If it on your computer (Under the printer icon) then it will be a software issue.

However, to check the hardware functionality of the printer, perform the below steps on the printer to print a self test report.

By looking at the pic of the printer, it seems that you are using PSC 2500 printer, so perform the below steps on the printer itself.

On the front panel of the All-in-One, press Setup then press 1 and then press 4.

It will work for both
HP PSC 2400 seriesHP PSC 2500

If you are unable to print a self test report, then try to make a copy from the front panel of the printer, by placing a text document on the scanner glass and then press color copy button.

If the printer prints a test report or makes a copy , then it confirms that the printer is working fine. The issue is with the software part.

If printer fails to print and then error message displayed on the printer LCD screen, then perform the steps given in the blow link.

The hardware issue may or may not be resolved. Hoewever, if the error message is on your computer, then try to run the print diagnostic utility if the printer is connected to the computer via usb cable and check for the result.

Here is the web link to donwload the print diagnostic utility.

Hope this will helps you.

With regards.

Can't print a pdf file

Sounds like you are using the PDF printer as your selected printer - this is for creating PDF files in which case you would give it a name.
If you have a PDF file open, simply select your printer (1610) as the printer to print to as with any other documents you print.

HP PSC 1610

Try removing and reinstalling your printer in the control panel, then reboot your system; the device driver might be damaged.
This will force Win to search for and reinstall the driver.
