Canon pixma ip4600 says it cant print bc theres not paper, but there is. i cant figure out how to print.

This is what pops up even though i loaded the paper. Support Code : 1003 The following paper has run out. "Media Type :Plain Paper" "Paper Size :US Letter" 1. Load paper into the cassette. 2. Press the printer's RESUME button. Plain paper of A4, Letter, B5, and A5 sizes will be fed from the cassette because [Automatically Select] is selected for [Paper Source] in the print dialog box.

Many times the switch that lets the printer know it's out of paper is stuck in position, or dust has clogged it. If you can blow the small bits of paper or dust out you can get it going again. I use a can of compressed air to clean my printer about once a month to stop this from happening. It is a common problem.

SOURCE: Canon PIXMA ip4000/paper jammed problem

Tackler- I dont think I have a solution but I know that the cassette should stick out about 5cm i.e. the cover just fits on nicely. I found with mine sometimes it needed a firm (but not hard) push in as obviously some sensor was not being tripped and it would just not pick up the paper in the tray. Have you tried using the top down feed? At least if that works you can print (and you can stack up a couple of pages).

Printing query

If your Canon printer is capable, its called Duplex printing. You would go into the properties of your printer and if its available there then you can check it off and it will print on both sides of the paper.

I want to print on a CD using a Canon Pixma iP4600

hi,

1. to print on a cd, there is a (cd sticker paper) available in the market, buy it and feed it in your printer...
2. to print on a cd, you should have special software such as... Nero Burn version 5.0/5.5/6.0/6.5/7.0,
this is a cd burning software, in this software you will find sticker designing option, where you can
select images or text to design the cd for printing..

Canon IP4600 won't feed from rear tray.

It turns out that if you read the documentation VERY carefully it says that "if the application program specifies 8.5x11 plain paper and that is what is loaded in the front cassette you cannot print from the rear tray". It turns out that this is true even if you go to the printer driver and specify "rear tray" manually. The driver disregards the setting. You can force printing plain paper from the rear tray by going to the Canon "My Printer" icon and forcing ALL printing from the rear tray. If you do this, remember to change it back. You can also print plain paper from the rear tray if you specify the "allocation" option and the paper from the front cassette runs out. You can always print from the rear tray if the application that created the print job specifies something other than 8.5x11 without resorting to the forced override, e.g. printing a .jpg or .gif or something from an application like Paintshop or Printshop, etc.
