It's there because the connection inside the LCD panel that commands that column is either busted or inactive - it's a hardware fault that cannot be fixed. If it's too much to bear then the entire monitor must be replaced.
This might seem obvious, but is your video card output set to the native resolution on the monitor? If not, it will look fuzzy. Try 1680x1050, if you don't know the monitors native resolution. No need to use anything higher than a 60hz refresh rate either.
try changing the refresh rates and resolution on the pc.. do u have a driver for that ?? and check the cable for loose connections !! hope this works !!
