Yes, it is the printer driver.
But, the XP verson might be too new for this old machine.
Xerox will not update the driver to work on this model machine. It is to old and out dated. Even the M15 series maybe getting old esepeicaly for Fax drivers with analog digital converter kits. The baud rates cannot keep up with new fax machines when connecting to old fax machines.
If you do, try to download the driver, try to get the right driver for this model. If you use the wrong driver the machine will not work.
When installing the driver, you might get a menu about comatible issue, just continue, the menu should completly finish, and when it works, the printer will copy. This is a must in the end. This will tell you the computer and machine is working.
Some XD models will not respond to the XD drivers. Reasons could be software revisions on the Main curcit boards NVM.
Good luck.
.
Go to xerox.com. Driver can only be downloaded from net.

same here i linked the copier with a usb line; installed it from a program i found for it but wen i ask for it to print a simple document it simply doesn't print. i don't know what to do...
Same issue - I bought a Belkin Parallel-to-USB cable for my new Dell (didn't realize the Dell no longer comes with a parallel port!). I downloaded the driver from the Xerox website. You can hear the printer rev up when the print job is sent but nothing prints. The I get a print failed message. I'm also concerned that the driver is not digitally signed to work with XP. This printer is still a great printer/copier and I hate to give up on it!
I have the installation disk for the printer and it won't let me install the printer
What was the problem exactly?
Do you have the resource CD from Xerox?
