MY B130 BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHES ORANGE. I HAVE TWO DELL BATTERIES AND AFTER IT REACHES FULL CHARGE IT STARTS FLASHING ORANGE 4 TIMES THEN GREEN THEN ORANGE 4 TIMES AND ON AND ON. WHEN I UNPLUG AND RUN ON BATTERY POWER WITH EITHER BATTERY IT DOES THE SAME THING. DELL SAID IT COULD BE A MOTHERBOARD PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM SHOWING UP WITH DIFFERENT BATTERIES. DOES ANYBODY HAVE THE ANSWER?
The flashing battery light is an indication that the system is
attempting to charge the battery. The orange light indicates a problem
charging one of the battery cells. This usually means that the battery
either needs to be recalibrated or replaced. To recalibrate the battery
just use the system until the battery is dead, then recharge and repeat
the process twice, after which time the battery should be recalibrated.
If this doesn’t fix the flashing orange light then the battery may need
to be replaced.
ps. you could try putting it in the freezer over nite covered with glad wrap or something to protect from freezer burn then leave out on room temp for a few hrs well. "disclaimer(this is my own suggestion and is not in any way covered by the manufacturer but you may try it at your own risk)"
The amber flashing light simply means the battery is fully charged.
This usually happens with a replacement battery not manufactured by Dell.
Not a big deal.
If you open your power meter (right click on the icon) and notice the charge continues to diminish even while plugged in and indicating "charging"
You should unplug and use your laptop until the battery is depleted.
You can set adjust the power properties (right click on the same icon) to hibernate when the critical battery reaches 5% so that you don't lose any work in progress.
If the battery will not begin to recharge after running it down and plugging back in, leave your laptop plugged in, remove the battery and lock it back in place.
The computer will reset and the battery begins to recharge again.
This appears to be a feature that occurs in replacement batteries to ensure the battery is kept at an optimal charging capacity.

Hi,
if you have tried both batteries with the same laptop and they are giving you the same error code, then it could very well be a motherboard problem, both the batteries cannot be bad, what you can do is try these batteries on some other compatible laptop model to check if they work fine there. Also try swapping the AC adapter as in both case you might be using the same Ac adapter, try using some other good known AC adapter as well.
Further queries are welcome
