Focus is stuck on about 2X, it wont zoom in or out

Seems to be a common problem... walmart.com reviews show a few people having the same problem and after only owning this camera for 3 weeks, it is doing the same thing to me. I'm taking mine back for a refund tomorrow.

You haven't stated which body you have but the AF will not work with the extender if the effective lens aperture is too low (remember that a 2x extender doubles the focal length but halves the effective aperture).

Canon's own website states: "Autofocusing does not operate if the effective maximum aperture is greater than f/5.6 (greater than f/8 on the EOS 1V and EOS 3)."

is there a manual override for the focus? thern try zooming? Clean the lense

I had the same problem w/ the same camera. My wife fixed it by doing this: holding down the pictue snapshot button and the video record button simultaneously. Low and behold, the focus came back. I was amazed! Try it.

can´t get the focus right I have tryed both auto and manual.
The zoom function is set to analog only.
Maybe there is some computerprograming that can help

Looks like zoom lens is damaged. Probably needs pro repair.

An E:61:10 error means Zoom operations fault Inspect the lens block zoom reset sensor.
You can try to do a manual reset on your camera. If that doen't work it will probably have to be sent in for service.

How does it stop working? Do you mean it doesn't auto focus anymore?
Many longer focal length lenses wont auto focus with 2x teleconverters on them.

 I have the same probelm how can i fix this. 

Have you cleaned the heads lately? Or the focus sensor. My previous advice for some one else is to clean the heads every 25 hrs of play. Buy a commercial tape cleaner. Try that first. If that doesn't help you may need to take it to a camera shop and have it cleaned and re-aligned because of normal usage after 2 years. Probably your best option.
