Press the RANDOM/REPEAT button and watch the unit's display. There will be a graphic changing to show the different functions: Disc repeat....All Repeat.

Try out the different modes unit you find the one that plays all the discs in the carousel.

Check with AIWA they might be able to supply the Operating instructions free. Some have them as a PDF on the website.

Check the speaker wires for shorts.

One or more of the output transistors has failed or you have a bad speaker. Try disconnecting both speakers and turning on the unit. If it still shuts down, then the transistors are likely to be defective. These can be replaced for about $15-$25 plus labor at any service shop that handles audio gear.

If you can hear a hiss then the spkrs and amp are OK. It sounds like you're not on whichever source you're wanting to hear or it is on mute. Make sure ther is no function enabled that turns the sound off or over-rides it (like a tape monitor or AUX in...).
