1800FP green LED is on, screen is black

My 1800FP has green LED on, but screen is totally black. The VGA signal is good. The power supply has 5V and 12V. Based on the comments, I bought an inverter over eBay, and replaced the old one. But the problem remains. What else could go wrong? Any comments are help and are appreciated.

Thanks,

Power pack has issues could be a chip on the power pack or some capacitors on the power pack. the power pack supplies power to the inverter.

I fixed my broken HP L1906! Couple new capacitors in power supply board and it could be powered up. Green led (for power) is on, monitor begin to circle 18 times - red, blue, green white horizontal...

SCREEN DAY.
BUT NO PHOTO POSTED, worth 1000 words each,
can be lots of things ,
bad power supply, something shorted. caps but in backwards.
+ to + and - to - works only. or the short. every time.
there is no schematic,
leaving what?, guessing ? and buying used parts on ebay
expensive to do that.
i presume the OSD button is dead ,right?

the power button tells you its a hard failure, it did.

The L19xxxx has CCFL back lamps, most did.
so seems they work ok , to see color takes that working.
but power is first ,that mean not just 5v.

Trying to find wich two or more wires from wiring harness turn on power supply for a compaq presario 7594

In ATX PC power supplies, here is the wiring scheme:

Green: PS-ON (+5V)
Gray: PWR OK (+5V)
Purple: +5VSB
Blue: -12V
White: -5V
Orange: +3.3V
Red: +5V
Yellow: +12V
Black: Ground (AKA Common)

Use a paper clip to connect the GREEN wire and a BLACK wire. There should be a black one right next to the green. This is how I test PSUs before and after I repair them. Now it should be running, assuming there are no internal problems.

You can also connect the GRAY to ground with an LED. Not necessary, but I like to do it ;)

Led flashing no picture

disconnect the signal cable from the computer. if it shows color bars, it means your monitor is ok and your video card is faulty. if it still does the same thing. you need to reseat the video card if its not integrated.

hope this helps.

Dell moniter

The power supply has most likely gone out. Check for 12v and 5v output and also the solder arround d903 and d907. The site www.lcdrepair.us sells the part as well as a repair kit and has instructions.

Dell UltraSharp 1800FP, green power light, black screen....

Its probably the inverter that lights up the screen that went bad.I have replaced inverter before with much sucess. If you feel comfortable opening the unit up I found one on ebay. Here is the link.
