SOURCE: samsung flat screen will not power on

What you have wrong with your tv is in the power supply board, it is a very common problem which you can fix yourself for around $30 this is a MAJOR Samsung problem and thousands of people are having this problem. What you need to do is deenergize your tv and lay it face down on a table so you can work on it. Use a philips screwdriver to remove all the screws on the back cover of the tv make sure to remember where they go for when you put it back together. Remove the back cover and follow the two wired from where your tv power cord comes in and in the middle of your tv they will plug into a board, this is your power supply board. Look for blown capacitors, also check the fuses the tops will be bulging upward and caps have writing on them like 10v 1000uf or 2200 uf and 3300uf are the most common. What you will need to do is replace these with a 16v cap but be sure the uf number is the same, and you need 105 degree rated caps. There is also a negative side to the capacitor which is marked with a stripe and a shorter leg on the bottom, these have to go in the same way or you will blow the board, remove the board with screwdriver and disconnect all wires, now you will need your tools solder, soldering iron, and preferably a solder ****** to remove the old bad caps here is a youtube link that shows u step by step just go there and type samsung power supply repair, and whether you have a vizio, philips or another model that this is posted on they all have samsung power supplies in them so if you are having power problems this is your fix, you should be able to get all your parts at radio shack or on the web. Thank you and votes are welcome and if you cant find the parts get to me and I can help you get them

SOURCE: Panasonic TC-P42G15, plasma flat screen

Please check these 3 boards for blown fuses, bad caps, blown/shorted components.
Power supply, Y-SUSTAIN, and Z-SUSTAIN board.
You should download any one of the PLASMA TV training manuals to learn how PLASMA TV works from the link below, it will help you to get more understanding.

First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

SOURCE: My Toshiba flat screen won't

Can you turn the TV usin g the power switch on the TV?
Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

Ideas on parts to replace?

Here's the test. With the TV on shine a flashlight on the screen. If you can see a dim picture the backlight circuits are bad. If you cannot see a picture the T-Con board is bad. You can get parts from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

Samsung tv #LN40B530P7F wont turn on,theres a little red light inlower right hand corner,so its gettin power, but it wont turn on

Are you using two remotes, the TV's and the cable box'? Is so, then you possibly may not have an understanding of how the cable box remote operates. Play around with it, or it could be something more serious with the TV, like the power switch button is defective.

I have a 55" Panasonic flat screen that won't turn

Try disconnecting all of your HDMI cables and plugging the power cord of the TV into another wall outlet. If this resolves the issue, you may have had a small power surge from either your wall outlet or one of your source devices. It is recommended to connect your TV to a surge protector if you haven't done so already.

Samsung TV won't turn on. Red light is solid, won't blink when pressed. All capacitors seem fine (none swollen or vented).

That model is covered under a class actions lawsuit settlement over bad power supply boards. You need to contact Samsung about this and get a warranty claim started, even if the original warranty is over the settlement terms will cover parts and labor. You can get additional information about this along with contact information here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/samsung-has-reached-a-settlement-in-class-action-lawsuit-over-faulty-tv-power-supplies/

My samsung tv is making clicking noises and won't turn on

Clicking noises may mean a power supply voltage is not staying correct or that board is bad---a suggestion: visit shopjimmy.com who has by model number a list of all the boards used in almost every Samsung Flat screen set made.

Sound only with a black screen.

sounds like the backlight is out, can you see a picture when shining a flashlight on the screen. if yes you have either a bad inverter power supply or bad screen (panel).
both are serious , also could be just a few bad capacitors on the power supply, if you want you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top and are easy to solder in if you have a soldering iron
