As you mentioned that " CD player does not turn on".By this do you mean to say that there is no power to the radio.Or there is power to the radio but nothing is getting started on radio/stereo unit.
Also is it after market radio unit or is a factory installed company radio. In some cases its noticed that radio does get started till the exact radio code is inserted. In that case you can get the radio codes from the local dodge car dealer. But if its not a radio code problem, but the power related problem then the radio connections has to be checked. Also some after market radio/stereo units are not compatible with car.So that is also possible.

Get this possibilities confirmed. So this will help to retrieve the exact cause of the problem.Thanks.Helpmech.

Do yourself a big favor & buy the adapter plug for the harness, that converts your Chrysler harness to easy install of aftermarket stereo. Any autoparts or audio store should have them.
Your best bet on that one is to go to a place that sells car audio systems or even some autoparts retailers have them, and get the proper adapter harness already made up. A few more dollars but, a whole lot less headaches.

go to walmart find your cd player, dash kit ,wiring kit and then this is what you do .. remove the old radio attach the wiring harnes you bought to the factory wiring harnes this will allow you to match the color code up for your new radio with out cuting wires then install the new dash kit witch will allow you to install your cd player with a factory look this should be everything ou need to know
Most stereo installation places have plugs that adapt your current harness to your new one. Take your new player with you to match up, it may save you a nightmare in wiring, for the sake of $20 or so.
