its and HP compaq PC< desktop of 3 sizes sold
the answer varies by that.

this pc comes in 3 sizes, sff, mini and full
the motherboards are NOT the same.
so here is showing how to use dell.com
    to read, the manual.
at dell (fixya is not HP.com ok?)
I toss the magic 3 sided coin land on SFF

bingo page 50 in the service manual

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01...

this 10 year old PC the RTC coin sell will reset it all,

    here are the real steps.
1: pull line cord from PC rear. PSU.
2: push power to discharge all caps in the PC.
2a; take side off per manual.
3: remove the RTC coin cell, hint most are now dead now, this old replace it if SAVVY !
4: put it back now, not backwards.
side back cored back power on.

no case size stated, by any above.
but page 57 and 58 shows, the reset button only on some motherboards, of this SERIES.http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01...

the green jumper method if seen.
see the 9 steps there, is this clear.
    all 9?

learn that answers to this question vary by your real PCs model, fully stated, and was not.
so this post is only example .

others reading, newer PC do not work like this.

for PC 2010 and newer, it may take HP direct help to reset it. (for sure newer.

SOURCE: HP Compaq nc6320 PC bios password

Ok, as long as the high security level has not been set in the bios then the following will work to reset / disable the bios password.
1. Remove the battery and mains adapter.
2. Remove the memory cover on the back of the laptop and remove the 2 keyboard screws.
3. Open the laptop and at the top of the keyboard you will see 4 sliding tabs. They are located between the 'Esc & F1 keys' 'F4 & F5 keys' 'F8 & F9 keys' and 'F12 & delete keys'. Slide these down and lift the keyboard up and pull forward slightly so as to disengauge the bottom lugs. Be carefull as there is a ribbon cable at the bottom that does not need to be tugged or removed.
4. You will now see at the bottom behind the keyboard a small battery connected to the motherboard. Gently pull the small white plug upwards untill it is removed from the board.
5. Wait 5 minutes and re-connect the small battery plug.
6. Re-install the keyboard and push back the clips. You do not need to replace the screws yet.
7. Apply the DC jack and power on - DO NOT INSTALL THE MAIN BATTERY.
8. Turn the laptop on while pressing f10 repeatedly but slowly - Do not hold it.
9. If high security is disabled you should now be in the setup screen, select 'Restore Defaults' and press F10 to save.
10. The password is now removed.

If this does not work then HP say that there is no other way to reset it. Im not sure about that, there probably is by some method of de-soldering the bios chip. However the above method worked for me so I hope it does for you. Please rate if you have any luck.

SOURCE: have an hp compaq how can i reset the bios

Usually opening the case and removing the bios battery for 20-30 seconds will clear the password. it's on the motherboard, looks like a watch battery and has a clip on one side holding it in place.
a lot easier than trying to track down the bios reset jumper..
Regards..

Dear Experts, I have problem in Install MAC OSX iAtkos V-7 on my PC HP DC5850 MT i have install the system and after installation it says installation successful please restart your PC or press the power...

MAC OSX cannot be installed on a pc that uses a AMD Phenom processor and/or new ATI chipsets - the cracked version you try to use will work (badly - very unstable) only with older models of AMD Athlon and nVidia chipset. The BIOS settings have nothing to do with that.

I know that there are issues with OSX on AMD systems. Have you looked over at the OSx86 project page? I would start there if you have not.

How to resets bios for compaq 2514 at

Why? What happend? Is it asking for a BIOS password?
If it is asking you have to short two jumpers on the systemboard to have it reset.
If not, just go in to BIOS by pressing F2 then restore or optimize default settings on BIOS.

Hope this helps...
