The company is out of business, does anyone know where I can get a firmware update for the MU1 model? Thanks.

I gave up on this unit... Suppposedly Cyberhome did not purchase DVD recording rights from
Phillips . Lawsuit .. Thus consumers were screwed not to mention Power suppy problems.

FRONT END UPDATE (DVR 1600ZU, DVR 1600MU or DVR 1200MU).
VERY IMPORTANT: There are TWO versions of DVR 1600, this update is for EITHER the DVR-1600ZU or DVR-1600MU or DVR-1200MU and requires two steps 1. Front End and 2. Back End. This is the FRONT END. There is another download for the DVR-1600ZU, DVR-1600MU or DVR-1200MU BACK END on this site. You will need to perform that update after this.
These are .NRG (Nero) image files. This means that these are exact mirror images of the original disc. So, you will need a CD-R/RW writer/burner to transfer these images on to a disc, and Nero CD mastering application. In Nero, you can burn the image to disc by selecting FILE in the Main Menu then "Burn Image to Disc".
Once you are successful in transferring the image to disc, LABEL this disc "Update 1" (LABEL THIS DISC NOW) and follow these instructions:
Loader Update
1. Insert disc "Update 1" into unit.<br>
2. Once the disc loads a question box will appear asking "Do you want to update this loader?" Select yes and press enter.
3. A message box will appear stating "Loader Firmware is being updated." Please wait about 2 minutes and do not turn off the unit during this time.
4. After the update is complete the tray will eject and the message box will state "Update Success." Remove the disc from the tray and power off the unit.
5. Next, power on the unit, press SETUP, select the GENERAL menu and scroll down to USER DEFAULTS. Select yes and press enter to restore the unit to factory defaults.
6. Scroll up to VERSION to verify that the loader firmware has updated.
Look for the BACK END download for the DVR-1600ZU or DVR-1600MU on this same page and follow those instructions.
