I was using the ministation with Blurb BookSmart and it was working fine for quite a while. Eventually the computer slowed down and wouldn't allow me to move photos from the mini drive into the blurb book I was making. I tried to eject the drive and it gave me the option of force quitting. I force ejected it before I saw the warning that it could damage the drive. Now my computer won't recognize the drive when I plug it into the USB port on my macbook. There are irreplaceable photos on this drive and I desperately need to either repair it or retrieve the data. Is there a way to do that? Please help!

There is a possibility that your hard drive has experienced logical damage due to your hard drive is not visible. In this case to recover your data i would suggest you to use some data recovery software that will get online in both free and paid version.

SOURCE: buffalo ministation

if you dropped your hard-drive and it stopped functioning - high chances that the drive has a physical crash. Best suggestion will be to contact a professional data recovery team if the data on the drive is really important (Coz, they charge a bomb for the recovery) Suggestion would be to talk to drivesavers.com

My buffalo ministation 3.0 external hard drive wont be recognised by my comuter. to be honest i dropped it, but when i plug it into computer green light starts flashing, after a while fashing stops green...

My ministation was doing the same, beeping and flashing green light after a light drop on the floor. Soo... I took my ministation usb drive out of the plastic enclosure and smacked it on the table a few times. Plugged it in and it spun back up!! Now my computer recognizes it and everythings working smooth! I assume something with the drive became jammed and the couple smacks loosened the drive head.. Anyway, if all else fails... beat it!

Buffalo ministation hd-pct500u2 won't allow me access to it

Go Here
And you will have to download the CD image and then burn it on to a disk. This would possibly be why you can't see it in your device manager because it doesn't know what it's looking for and how to run it. by downloading, burning it, and then installing it. The computer will then know exactly what the peripheral is and how to recognize it and run it as a hard drive. I sure hope this has helped.
Thanks, Cody

The blue light on the external drive is on but there is no sign of the drive in my computer folder neither in the disk managment folder. Please help me! tell me what to do. I do not want to loose all

Sounds like your drive is bad or is going bad. Try a different usb port and see what happens.

Try using the drive on a different computer and see if it recognizes it.

We understand that your problem is:
hello i was using my buffalo ministation 320 gb external hard drive about a week ago, it was working fine but I left it on my bed when I was done. About 2 days later I went to change my bed sheets and the external hard drive feel on the floor. Now when I connect it to my computer it makes a connected sound but it does not show up on my computer but it is recognized when I safely disconnect it from my computer. I tried it on my laptop, it installs but its the same, it is not detected under my computer so therefore I am not able to access my files. Please tell me what I can do to retrieve my data. Thank you.
