Check to make sure the speakers are turned on and the volume is turned up. Make sure the speaker cable is plugged into the light green port on the back of the computer.
Check your Audio and Sound properties in the Control Panel. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound. Check the volume to make sure it is turned up and that it is not on mute.
You can click on the megaphone that is at the bottom right near the time and adjust the volume and make sure mute is not on.

You may benefit by going to Garmin's WebUpdater page to download & install updated firmware on your nuvi 760. It's free and all you need is a computer with a USB port and a USB cable that fits your nuvi 760 (it was included the box) The directions are clear and it is very easy to do.
Check The system settings, I had to download the newest version of the audio software for the voice to work. The software vanished once and I had to re-download it using the web updater.
