Record skipping despite new needle

I recently replaced the needle on my Crosley Cr704 and now it skips worse than before. While playing, my records spin almost as if they are warped (with a slight wobble up and down), but I know this is not the case since I put on a fresh out-of-package record. Why?!

It could be something to do with the turnatable's platter. Is the matt that the record sits on faulty. Does the platter wobble up and down with no record on it? If you can see this happening you might need to check the platter out. If it's a belt driven the belt can come out of position causing such problems. Also objects can get stuck inside the platter. Especially if you have small children in the house!!!

SOURCE: Hi I have a crosley auto rama record player with

There's one way to check the motor. Take it out and connect a battery (if it's over 9 volts a PP9 should do it.) if it don't turn it's dead!
Then try CPC online parts people.

I have a classic model CSL1 all in one home stereo while playing a record it suddenly starts hopping what do I do

"Let's go to the hop."
If the tone arm is 'hopping'; that is, bouncing up and down. Either the turntable platter or the motor itself is not moving freely and causing a vibration.
If it is just 'skipping the needle is not going down into the groove on the record, There may be a build up of dust or lint on the needle keeping it from following the groove, therefore it ;skips'.
Also the needle tip may be worn. If it is skipping, you can try cleaning the needle with a soft makeup brush. brush gently back and forth, (the way the groove in the record goes.) NEVER SIDE TO SIDE.

How do I get a replacement needle for model #9408mo?

If you look at the cartridge that the stylus fits in you should see a make and model number for the cartridge. Put that into Google and the rest of your questions should be answered.
You don't need to phone anyone.

Shaky sounding records

Some things to check:-
Is anything preventing the turntable from rotating smoothly, this would cause a judder.
Perhaps the records are sliding on the turntable, a rubber mat will cure this.
Ensure the record player is on a level surface.

Needle skipping towards end of record

If you lower the tonearm to the record surface, and it just slides towards the center, chances are the stylus(needle) is either broken or covered with dust. Clean and inspect. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

The stylus skips across the record, despite readjusting the tracking force and the anti-skate control. After repeated adjustments for too little and too much weight, nothing helps. Does the stylus need...

If your needle skips across the record, then there is only 1 thing wrong with it... it's broken, and needs to be replaced.

If after you've replaced the stylus, and problem persists, then you have something a little more serious... Tonearm damage. More than likely not, but just in case replace the stylus does not help.

Good luck!
