There is no correct answer as you should do whatever you enjoy eating. Frosting cookies takes quite simple cookies and makes them a lot more fun. Sprinkles and sweets are good for kiddie friendly cookies. You can use chocolate too in a variety of ways to decorate.

Some people add things before the baking happens such as rolling the dough in sugar, sprinkles or nuts, for a different effect post baking.

What are the Most Popular Desserts?
Nearly everyone loves desserts. They are the highlight at the end of a good meal. If you have the time, it's a great way to play with food and produce some great treats for your family and friends.
Here's a list of some of the most popular desserts at the moment. None of these sugggestions are complicated, so just give them a try and have fun.
1. Cupcakes (you can go crazy with the decorations, either keeping it super simple or really impressing people with icing)
2. Cheesecake - this is a classic that features on the most popular list all the time. Whether you keep it simple and plain or add toppings - it's a very popular cake.
3. Apple crumble or Apple Pie - this one is great with ice cream, custard or just by itself. A great way to get kids to eat fruit.
4. Chocolate Chip Cookies - great as they are or more fancy if you add nuts, fruits and experiment with more unusual flavors.
5. Rainbow Cake - use a simple sponge recipe and food coloring to create a colorful creation that's great for kid's parties and birth celebrations.

Some Creative Ideas for Gift Wrapping

  • You don't have to rely on boring shop bought gift wrapping paper. If you are looking for something alternative, take a look at the ideas below.
  • If you have a printer at home you can use your computer to set up a personalized pattern ie a name and then print the paper with the recipient's name all over it.
  • Use spare bits of fabric to wrap up gifts. You can tie it with ribbon to complete the effect.
  • Even cereal boxes make great boxes for gifts. cut them up and glue or stapel them into shape and then cover with paper or fabric.
  • Use cheap plain paper but cut out decorative pictures from old greeting cards to add vibrancy and color.
  • Use plain white printing paper but tie it up with a fancy ribbon. It looks great!!

We bought our son a plain wooden toy chest with the intention of decorating ourselves at home. I would really like to decorate in a way that it can remain age appropriate for many years and we won

Try to pick a theme that appeals to numerous age groups such as nature, sports, or geometric patterns. Sporting themes are good but your son may possibly outgrow the team or if the team goes on a losing streak, he too may lose interest. Nature themes such as a rainforest, desert or African Safari may be a better idea. In my opinion, your safest bet is to go with bright, abstract geometric designs.
