Dell wireless mouse M787C batteries are wired in Parallel not in series...

Hello All, I just received a Dell All in One Computer with the M787c wireless mouse. I installed 2 fresh batteries and noticed after 3-4 minutes one of the batteries was getting warm? I removed that battery and the mouse LED light was still working. SO the M787c mouse was working as it should with only ONE Battery!
I checked wiring of the batteries and found that the Batteries were WIRED in Parallel. Wiring batteries in parallel is not a very good Electrical practice, at all!
I am sure that many owners of this mouse have gone through many batteries because of the miss wiring.
If you mouse does not work with properly with one battery if you are mechanically inclined you can disassemble the Mouse and rewire the batteries in SERIES.
There are 4 screws on the bottom of the mouse, 2 in the bottom underneath the front gliders, and 2 in the top. Happy fixing. Rob

Scrolling keeps freezing

If this does it with fresh batteries and optical light is clean, also test on a solid colored surface before trying another mouse to see if it is the mouse or system board. Did this start with new download of another web browser? Software install/update? If mouse is older, need to remove ball and clean 3 wheels.

Scroll wheel will not work, new batteries installed

install the software again for the mouse and after that if the wheel doesn't work then the mouse is bad and would need to be replaced.

My dell wireless keyboard doesn't work the mouse works. They are linked into the same USB reciever. There is a red light for the keyboard and green for the mouse....I have tried all windows diagnostics,...

try to delete the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, then search/create a new device and see if they are detected. if yes, just follow the instruction on installation. else, there could be a problem on either of them. hope this helps

Install mouse

most of the time, dell components (on a dell computer) will have the drivers pre-loaded on the system. follow the directions that should have come with the mouse for plugging in and synchronizing the component. Normally this involves plugging in the "connection" unit to a working USB port on your system and pressing the "sychronize" button on the unit. Make sure your mouse has good fresh batteries in it otherwise the sychronization will fail. You should get anywhere between 4 and 10 feet or range with your wireless mouse if it's operating correctly.

Also, if the drivers are NOT preloaded on the system, there should be a driver disc that came with the mouse, insert it and install the drivers for your mouse on your computer prior to following the above advice.
